Embassy Suites Center City - Page 1

Staying at the Embassy Suites in Center City was a horrible experience. I was there for approx. 4 weeks with a group of 24 people. 5 of us had items stolen from our rooms, and I had approx. $800 worth of items, including cameras taken from my suite. The hotel's response to my emergency was horrible. It took the duty manager 35 min to appear at my room. The Philadelphia PD responded quicker then the hotel. The housekeeper that had been in my room was allowed to leave, and not interviewed. While the overall appearance of the hotel was fine, I would not risk staying at this hotel again because they obvisouly don't care about the security of their guests.

This hotel is still undergoing renovations. Hot water went out twice, some floors were closed. Hot water was cut off several times. The valet parking attendants are not very fast and there were traffic jams in the small driveway in front of the hotel, had to wait up to 10 minutes to be able to drive in and turn in my car. The bed was excellent, housekeeping was also excellent. TV's are dated, channel selection is terrible. The Friday's breakfast buffet is substandard, the buffet hardware is cheap plastic. The location for tourists is OK, and it's fairly centric for most business locations, but there's just too many families with kids and it can be annoying trying to get through the mess to the reception and the breakfast. If you're traveling on business this is not really the place to be.

My family frequently stays at Embassy Suites wherever we can find one. In the states we have been fortunate enough to find an ES in most every major metropolitan area we have visited. We have never been disappointed, but this ES was the best. The staff was friendly, the accommodations were modern and the deco was fitting with this particular area of Philly.

The staff at breakfast were fabulous! The young lady that managed the line took a special liking to my son and made his trip most memorable. We are looking forward to taking his best friend with us this spring to Philly and will definitely stay at this ES.
