The location was centrally located to the "m" train that traveled to Arlington and Washington D.C.Some very snooty staff. My wife lost her engagement ring diamond of 38 years somewhere.“The breakfasts were fabulous and the manager's 5-7 cocktail...

Stayed here with wife for three nights, Sept 17, 18, 19 2007. First night, was sleeping and thought I heard flute like music, sort of like that of a fife. Didn't think much of it and figured I was dreaming and it was just the noise of the air from...

The check in staff was not exactly the friendliest. I asked about Internet and was told there was a $9.95/day charge, which in this day and age is unheard of. The young latino girl working the desk thought she was going to cut me off by interrupting me as I spoke, had to give her a sharp stare to let her know I though that was extremely rude. I asked for directions to a street nearby and they didn't have a clue, could not even look up a map for this. The "manager's reception" at 5:30pm is absolutely pathetic. Popcorn, chips, nasty "nacho" cheese sauce, sodas. The beer and booze was free but the servers would throw a bunch of dollar bills over the bar, which I thought was absolutely tacky for a hotel like Embassy Suites. The room quality was good, the room service was good, which was the only high point. The hotel restaurant is full of cigarette smoke, smells more like an ashtray than a restaurant, as the tables were too close to the bar where smoking was allowed. Clearly this hotel is more interested in catering to the transient local tourists with kids than the business traveler. This is definitely not the place I will stay in unless I have no other choice.

The hotel had a great location, within easy walking distance to the Old Town, the Marina and shopping, across the street from the Metro Station. It had a great complimentary breakfast and a manager's party in the evenings.
I am very likely
to return to the Embassy Suites Alexandria - Old Town.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.
