Best Hotel at the Oregon Coast – Posted Jul 31, 2009

Excellent

I have recommended this hotel to many family, friends, and co-workers since our stay last weekend. Every room is oceanfront and included a hot breakfast and cookies in the evening. Our room had a jacuzzi tub with comfy robes. We enjoyed sitting on our own personal balcony for our morning coffee. Excellent service and VERY clean. We will be back. Thank you!

Good

The Inn is very close to the beach and rooms are well appointed. I came for my birthday and had a king jacuzzi suite - which was awesome. Only bad thing (and not something the hotel could control) was a screaming kid in the next room could be...

Overrated and Overpriced – Posted May 01, 2008

Okay
35 year old male with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure

Free Chowder piping hot and water based. Free Cookies cold and stale. Pool water is cold. Jacuzzi water is not hot. Morning food is measly hard-boiled eggs and hi-fat yogurt. Rooms are substandard. Don't let the fireplace fool you. The beds are quite uncomfortable. The toilets are so shallow that male parts dip in when sitting. Not worth more than about 89 per night.

Guest Service leaves bad taste!!! – Posted Mar 23, 2008

Horrible
32 year old female with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure

First off...the amenities were used when we got into the room initially and when we called down to the front desk...they were very accommodating and said that they would send some new ones up. However, when the maintenance man knocked on our door, he didn't have the lotion that we requested. Later that night we realized that the TV cabinet was entirely too dusty inside the cabinet as well as around the TV itself. The next day our room was cleaned but we called down to the front desk and requested another set of amenities being that we had 3 people in our room. Even though they stated it would be right up...we never received the amenities requested. Our 2nd morning before checking out...we noticed that there was a beer bottle cap on the floor next to the night stand. When we checked out...we told the front desk of this issue and the other frustrations that we had. The agent said that they were making a list for the departments. We inquired if they could do anything for us because we had so many issues and they said that we would have to take it up with Expedia as we purchased the room from them. After calling Expedia in the parking lot of the hotel...they stated that they would have to talk with the hotel manager. After calling Expedia back and reviewing their conversation with the hotel, Expedia's hands were tied because the hotel wasn't willing to offer us a complimentary night. They said that they were not informed of the issues...After our numerous discussions, I hope this informs all of their potential travelers!

Beautiful View - Great Price – Posted Nov 07, 2007

I love this place. When I have a weekend free it is the perfect place to unwind. The accommodations are luxurious and the price is the best value in the area that I can find. It is a nice escape from all the substandard chains in the area. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

The Elizabeth Inn Hotel, Newport Oregon, is one of those gems you hope to find when travelling.

Our room on the top floor facing the sea, was tastefully decorated with quality fittings, such a marble suround double basin, lovely 3 person couch and a gas fired wood effect fireplace. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.

The conplimentary clam chowder at 5pm and freshly baked cookies at 8pm were delicious.

Overall, excellent value for money.

I treated myself to a two night stay at the Elizabeth Street Inn for my birthday. Falling asleep to the crash of the waves just outside the room was fantastic. I had a cozy fireplace to cuddle next to as the evening got cooler. The bed was super soft, it was a delicious sleeping experience.

I enjoyed fresh pizza delivery by Abby's right to my room, and a movie rented from the front desk to play on the in-room DVD player. My birthday celebration at the Elizabeth Street Inn, was a great big “Wow”!

They also had freshly baked warm cookies in the evening! They have a delightful desk staff with lots of smiles.

The hotel faces the ocean with a beautiful view. The rooms are very well appointed, luxury linens and a bathrobe to borrow while you enjoy the place. The service is the weak point, every time we have stayed we've witnessed management berate the staff in a way that was extremely unprofessional, or have found management sullen and difficult.

Their rates are on the high/above average side for Oregon coast properties, but well worth the money spent (if you can handle the personality issues.) One can walk directly onto the beach from the hotel exit. There are several very good restaurants in the area (try Georgies, located next door, or Quimby's up the street.) The hotel itself does not house a restaurant or provide room service. They do have very good coffee in the lobby. The "deluxe continental breakfast" includes yogurt, fruit and cereal. It's not very deluxe, but it is free.
