i stayed there a week. This hotel is close to the railroad tracks, the trains blow their horn practically every hour, 24 hrs a day, they charge you a "resort fee" like 10 bucks which is bogas. the front desk staff terrible! I had to be moved 3 times. The walls are made out of paper i think, i can hear everyones conversation especially outside my door. This is an old hotel they tried to update and look and sound opulant which it is not! The rooms i were in , pipes leaked, mold and mildew smells, broken bed frames, old comfortables, terrible small towels and soaps. no refrigerators or microwaves...

We stayed at El Palacio one night after a cruise. It's close to the airport (about 12 minutes). The reception of the hotel was OK, but the room was horrible!.
It smelled bad, had a dirty carpet, and everything was old. The rooms need to be remodeled. It's very close to a train railway, so you can hear the train horns very clearly. We didn't feel comfortable or safe there.

There was no data port in the rooms. The newspaper was delivered sporadically. The non-smoking policy was a plus, although some guests smoked on the balcony.
I am not likely
to return to the El Palacio Hotel & Conference Center.
I might recommend it to friends.
