El Encanto Hotel & Garden Villas, first built in 1915, opened its doors as a hotel in 1918. The hotel is a charter member of Historic Hotels of America, and on the National Trust for Historic Preservation Register. The historical architecture is both Craftsman-Cottage style and Spanish Colonial Revival for which Santa Barbara is famous.
