The location was ok, but the rooms were below the quality I would have expected being that it was in Las Vegas. The in hotel restaurant was very low quality and the service was the worst I have ever had in my life.

I am not likely to return to the El Cortez Hotel and Casino.
I would not recommend it to friends.

The hotel is located one block away from free nightly entertainment on Freemont Street. The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area.

I am very likely to return to the El Cortez Hotel and Casino.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!. The description of this hotel was posted and advertised as “intimate” and “accommodating”, turns out that neither of these quaint phrases are a representative of the service, staff or hotel in general. Instead, what you pay for is a glib, indifferent and burnt-out staff which is couldn’t care less if you enjoy your stay. The hotel was DATED!! Everything, from the colors to the bedding is ancient. To sum up, stay somewhere……..anywhere else!!

I am not likely to return to the El Cortez Hotel and Casino.
I would not recommend it to friends.

Nice hotelDO NOT STAY HERE!!!. I liked EC. The rooms were very clean, and it was a short stroll to Fremont Street. Did not feel scared or apprehensive walking alone at night. Even won at slots. Was not a luxury hotel, but who spends time in a hotel in Vegas anyway? Would definitely go back.

I am very likely to return to the El Cortez Hotel and Casino.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

I had a wonderful stay. I arrived a bit too early to check in, as in the night before so i had to pay extra to stay at "The Ogden House" a little hotel across the street from the cortez. It was very dingy but liveable for me. Reminded me of a rent by the hour motel somewhere but it was suitable for a few hours of sleep. Then I went and checked into the El Cortez. A WORLD apart. I stayed in their vintage rooms right up the stairs from the casino.

I would stay here again and plan to since I got 2 free nights in September for staying 2 nights in August.

We stayed here from 4/26-4/29 in a tower double queen room. It was nice and updated, very clean didn’t even find a hair in the shower! The rooms are dated but have been updated with nice comforters and furniture. We also had a love seat in the room as well. We will certainly stay here again!

It is far enough away from the Fremont Street Experience where you are not bothered by the sound from it. However, we were on the top floor backside and we did hear things like the trash trucks at five o'clock in the morning and parties at other nearby motels. We did request a non smoking room but I got a smoking room instead. The desk said we could only change rooms after eleven o'clock in the morning and due to our schedule, we were not able to be there at that time to do that so we kept the room. A staff member did come up with a can of room deodorizer the first day and sprayed the room. This did not last but we got used to it. Since we were not at the hotel that much each day, I felt it was good value for the money in view of the rates of everything else in that area. We did make full use of the coupons in the El Cortez restaurant for a discounted breakfast each morning that was good. The attached parking garage was easy to get in and out of and within a short distance of the room.

I am somewhat likely to return to the El Cortez Hotel and Casino.
I might recommend it to friends.

I disliked some food served at breakfast, that they allowed smoking in the hotel and that they gave us a smoking room when we reserved a non smoking room. It was in a slum neighborhood of Las Vegas. The hotel was old and smelly even in the elevators. They did upgrade us to a better room facility although it was a smoking room. It was easy to get to the Las Vegas Strip and it was cheaper than other hotels.

I am not likely to return to the El Cortez Hotel and Casino.

I liked because it was close to the Strip. I disliked that they gave us a smoking room when we booked a non smoking room, the breakfast was poor, the whole hotel smelt like cigarette smoke and the surrounding area was slum and dangerous.

I am not likely to return to the El Cortez Hotel and Casino.
I would not recommend it to friends.

I can see where people would not give this hotel a 10 because it doesn’t have all the flashiness of the strip.

What it lacks in looks it makes up for in character. The rooms were nice but the bathroom was small. That’s fine. It’s not like I’m going to stay in my room all day and night. The gamboling was excellent. I made enough money from the casino to pay for my trip there and back (and I was driving from east TX). The service was a bit late and I almost walked out but when the food got there I was very happy that I didn’t leave. The steaks were excellent and the prices were cheap. (The waitress got a good tip).

Overall, I would love to visit this place again.

The location is a little out of the way and hard to find. There is no room service after seven o'clock in the evening and no take out food from the restaurants is allowed. The staff is not that friendly.

I am not likely to return to the El Cortez Hotel and Casino.

We liked this hotel and we will stay here again. We especially liked the twenty four hour cafe. The food, the service and the price were unbeatable. If you are disabled, like me, make your reservation over the phone because not all rooms are accessible by the elevator.

I am very likely to return to the El Cortez Hotel and Casino.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

It’s a very good hotel for the downtown Las Vegas experience. The taxi ride to the Strip is easy and affordable but the downtown casinos are more personable and the Fremont Street experience is fabulous.

This hotel made me feel entertained: They gave freebie table plays.

I am very likely to return to the El Cortez Hotel and Casino.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

I have stayed at the El Cortez hotel many times. I knew what to expect and I have always been treated well. It is located in downtown Las Vegas where I prefer to stay. It is not a luxury hotel, but very sufficient for my needs. The staff is friendly.

All in all, it was a good experience. The hotel is clean, it is easy to park and the location is very convenient to downtown Las Vegas. It is a great value for the money.

This hotel made me feel relaxed: The atmosphere is laid back and relaxed. I also felt safe there.

I am very likely to return to the El Cortez Hotel and Casino.

It usually is not the greatest place to stay, but they had just refurbished the rooms and everything was much better than expected. Also, their slots have higher rates of winners than any other casino in Las Vegas.
