This is a great place. built in 1941.

It has some period drawbacks; it smells kind of old, it doesn't have individual climate control, there are no room phones, there are no 10,000 channels of cable, the bathroom is horribly, horribly small.

OK, now that I've frightened away the squeamish, you've GOT to stay here. The grounds and garden are out of this world. The 1940s decor and design are something you'll never see if you stay with Best Western. The pool is great, it's quiet. This is how America used to travel and you know what? It's nice. It's peaceful. It's relaxing. Do what we did and stop early in the day. Sit in the garden and enjoy. Stop at the grocery and buy some charcoal and a couple of steaks and some beer and ENJOY YOURSELF.

This hotel had a lovely atmosphere. If you're looking for a quiet, serene experience, then this is the place for you. Here you'll find a very small motel with pretty grounds, and a small, but nice pool area. I understand it was built in the 40's, so don't expect spacious rooms. The bathroom is very small. No cable, but if this isn't terribly important, then this is the place for you.

This hotel is truly a gem. It’s a charming, Mexican style hacienda with beautiful grounds, a swimming pool, and video rentals of “Big Wave Bob.” It’s definitely a great hub for exploring the gold country.
