Horrible
The vent clicked all night, the front desk manager was rude, the rooms especially the bathrooms were not worth the price. The ventilation in the pool area made it uncomfortable to breath. The breakfast staff were saying swear words even though...

This was our first trip to Duluth. The room was nice for pet friendly. Our boys enjoyed the water park. While others claimed it was warm and stuffy it was adequate for walking around in a bathing suit. The life guard staff was both friendly and...

26 year old male with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
We paid thousands of dollars to have our wedding reception at the Edgewater. Many of our guests for this out-of-town wedding stayed also stayed at the Edgewater. When we checked out, we ended up forgetting our dress clothes in the closet, along with my fishing vest with hundreds of dollars of fishing tackle and many hand-tied fishing flies I made in my childhood.
We were on the way to our honeymoon in the Superior National Forest (no phones), so I called my father and asked if he would call the motel and have them set our things aside so we could pick them up on our way back through town. He called the motel the same day and was told that the person in charge of lost-and-found was out and to leave a voicemail. This was on a Monday. He got no return call, so he called back on Wednesday, and still no return call.
When we got back into town the next Monday, we stopped at the motel and asked the front desk why they hadn't returned our calls, they had no answer. Worse, they did not have our things, and had made no attempt to check the room or ask the housekeeper who cleaned the room. They had an entire week, as the admitted that nobody checked into the room until Friday! They also said they wouldn't push the issue with the housekeeper because she may have missed it when cleaning the room and the next guest might have taken our things.
From the attitude they had when we stopped back to get our things, it seemed as if this was business as usual for them and they were quite used to doing this to people. No remorse! Don't trust this motel, and dont trust the housekeeping staff! Just stay away for your own safety.

Our kids had a blast! I thought the room was "right" on the lake. We heard traffic at all hours. I also think that for $200/night we should have a kitchen. Perhaps Lutsen is a better deal. We liked the breakfast, the free drink tokens and the fun for the kids (aged 10 & 13).
