I travel frequently and I know that finding a decent, much less a nice place to stay, is a crap shoot. That staff was very courteous, the room was clean, the bed was soft, and the price was right. My family woke well rested and the continental breakfast was just what we needed to start us back on our trip. We will be staying here again. SD

We were very pleased. We have stayed at the Econo Lodge on James Road, in Valdosta, Ga. about 12 times during the past year. We were very pleased. The rooms were clean and did not smell stale at all. Our beds were very confortable, and the covers clean. We have stayed at alot of motels in Valdosta, before we finally found one that we were happy with. I like the ironing board, the hair dryer, the sterile plastic cups to drink out of, the soap, shampoo, and lotions. The breakfast bar and coffee will supply you with a light breakfast before you leave for the day. The staff is VERY friendly and went out of their way to help us in anyway they could. I can't praise our stays there at Econolodge enough. We are sure to stay there everytime we come through Valdosta.

After reading the mixed reviews I took a chance anyway, we arrived at the hotel and it looked nice, we checked in to our room with my children after going to Wild Adventure, we went to our room and the room was very clean, but my son & daughter started to get itchy after about 10 minutes, the room was infested with fleas, we went back downstairs and requested a refund, they refused to refund our money but offered to change rooms, I told them I would not stay in there hotel and wanted to leave, they would not refund our money so we just left, we had to put in a refund request with our credit card company, who gave us a credit, don't be fooled by how nice the hotel looks, the place is not worth the trouble and the staff is the worst.

My wife & I checked into the hotel, we went to our room, my wife took off her shoes and started unpacking, she then told me that something was biting her, I look at her legs and she was covered in flea bites, we packed up our luggage and went back downstairs, after telling the clerk about this she told us after a person with a pet leaves they spray for fleas, she said the flea eggs must have hatched, she changed our room, we went to the second room and it had a musky moldy smell to it, I then spoke to the manager, she told us she could put us up in the hotel next door because it was the same owners but it would cost us $45.00 more a night, I told her to forget it that we will stick it out until the morning and leave, I then asked if she had anything we could put on my wifes flea bites and she said she was not a doctor all she could give us was a band aid, and told us to go to the drug store down the road, we wont be staying at this flea lodge again.

My wife & I booked through the hotel, we asked for an AARP rate and was

given a good rate so we booked, when we arrived the girl behind the

desk asked me for my AARP card, I could not find it in my wallet, she

said she could not give me that rate then, I asked her to call AARP and

they will verify I am a member, she refused, I have had AARP for a long

time, I am 73 years old, she then charged us the high rate, after we went

to our room I remembered my AARP card was in my glovebox because we

needed road assistance on the trip, I then got my card and showed the

girl and asked if she could now give us the AARP discount, she stated no

she could not, I then told her to cancel our stay because we would go

to another hotel & she refused she said because we already checked in,

she then told me the next time we are in Valdosta not to stop here to go

to another hotel, she was very disrespectful in front of other

customers. We called Choice hotels main office and they said they will take care of the difference in the price we paid & the price we should have paid, I also spoke to the General Manager and she was just as

rude, The owners need to hire a better staff and then they will have a nice hotel.
