Small is no bargain

If you're looking for a bargain, stay away from this hotel. Our room was so small you could not walk around the bed. This hotel advertised that it was renovated in 2006, but it was done very poorly! Traffic noises were unbearable and made it hard to sleep; 8th Ave. is a designated ambulance route. Our room was so hot and there is no way to control the heat so we had the air conditioner running. This also helped drown out some of the sirens.
The only good thing I can say about this hotel is that the muffins were fresh.

Good deal, but smallest rooms in NYC

The Econo Lodge Times Square is completely new (at least on the inside). Everything is nice, new and clean. The free internet and breakfast are pluses. However, the hotel has the smallest rooms I have ever seen in Manhattan - and that is saying a lot for those familiar with the tiny rooms you typically get in Manhattan. So if you are looking for value and don't mind sleeping in a closet, this is a good deal. If you want to be able to walk around your room without banging into everything all the time, look elsewhere.
I am
somewhat likely
to return to the Econo Lodge Times Square.
I
might recommend it to
friends.

Hotel Review
by a traveler from Tukwila, WA

39 year old woman with a moderate budget, traveling for business
It was nicely remodeled new hotel. The rooms were much smaller than I would have ever imagined, there was not enough room to open the suitcase except on top of the bed. I would have rather had a smaller bed and more space to walk around it. Someone tripped the fire alarm on an upper floor and the evacuation was a total joke. I had no idea it was really a fire alarm going off. The evacuations sort of ruined my sleep. Otherwise, the price and location cannot be beat! It is one block off of Times Square and right in the middle of the action. I would stay there again because of the price, the location and the cleanliness.
This hotel made me feel hip: I did not have to carry a lot of stuff around, because I could easily go back to the room if I wanted to change for dinner or if I had wanted to get something. I was on my own right in the middle of New York City and I could come and go as I pleased.
I am
somewhat likely
to return to the Econo Lodge Times Square.
I
would definitely recommend it to
friends.

When we got to the hotel, we were informed that it had only been open for two weeks. So everything was practically new when we got there. The room was tiny. It was relatively cheap for the area, but still, it was smaller than my dorm room. The shower is barely large enough to fit one person. There's barely any room to put luggage. The head of the bed is against the wall, and the foot of the bed about six inches away from the other wall. There're complementary post cards and snacks. There's a flat screen TV (no room for a bigger TV), a desk, and a wardrobe. That's about all there is. The continental breakfast was nice too. The check-in lady was fun to talk to, very friendly.
I am
very likely
to return to the Econo Lodge Times Square.
I
would definitely recommend it to
friends.
