Econo Lodge Savannah Motel - Page 1

My mom and I went down to Savannah during a trip to Georgia from Southern California. At the last minute we tried to get a room and everywhere but Econo Lodge was booked. Now I know why.

We booked our room and went looking for some dinner. During our scout we decided we didn't want to stay because Savannah was so run down and nasty. We came back to try to get a refund and the lady at the front desk got belligerent with us. We left again looking for another hotel to stay in because the room was moldy smelling with damp carpets. When we came back they had changed the lock on our room. After some actually yelling and fighting, they gave us a new key and we decided it was too late to drive back to Atlanta.

We were changing clothes and the front desk woman that had been so out of control actually unlocked the door and walked in on us while we were in various states of undress! She then called the police and said we broke into the room. We will never ever, ever stay in another Econo Lodge anywhere and sure as the sky is blue we will never recommend them to anyone anywhere ever again.

I wish we could rate the hotel a zero, but a 1 is the lowest we could give.

Shafted!. They waited two weeks to process my hotel room fee and it has screwed up my finances for next month. If you go there, pay in cash!!!!

They are pet friendly.

We stayed for one night, and that was too much. The carpeting was wet, the bathroom sink was mounted on a 2x4 and the bathroom floor tile seemed painted. The shower faucet was extremely hard to turn to get any hot water, which didn't get very hot at all. The toilet ran constantly, the light bulbs in 90% of the fixtures were burnt out and the iron provided in the room didn't get hot enough to iron a shirt.

The bed at this hotel was softer than those usually found in other hotels. Breakfast was adequate although the seating was limited. It was a satisfactory hotel in terms of economical lodging.
