Even though this is part of a chain, there was no computerized reservation system. So I had to renegotiate the room price by digging out my e-mail copy of the reservation.
The premises were barren and there were very few other guests. One showed up next door but only used the room for an hour. There is a small pool but it was locked and not in use. The ice machine was broken so the proprietor provided refrigeratior ice on request. I needed to request towels for the bath because there were none.
There are no restaurants and shops within walking distance. The closest restaurant is by the freeway exit. There are a couple of malls each about a 10 minute drive away.
I stayed here to be close to the airport for a 7AM flight. From the motel, it was about 15 minutes by freeway to the airport. But my observation is that there were there were better quality motels yet closer to the airport. Next time, i will stay at one of those.

44 year old male with a luxury budget, traveling for business
This is Econo Lodge Sacramento. The rooms were not clean. I was given a key on check-in for a room that was already occupied. I worked until early morning and the next day someone had been given a key to my room. They woke me trying to get in.
