25 year old female with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
My mom and I went down to Savannah during a trip to Georgia from Southern California. At the last minute we tried to get a room and everywhere but Econo Lodge was booked. Now I know why.
We booked our room and went looking for some dinner. During our scout we decided we didn't want to stay because Savannah was so run down and nasty. We came back to try to get a refund and the lady at the front desk got belligerent with us. We left again looking for another hotel to stay in because the room was moldy smelling with damp carpets. When we came back they had changed the lock on our room. After some actually yelling and fighting, they gave us a new key and we decided it was too late to drive back to Atlanta.
We were changing clothes and the front desk woman that had been so out of control actually unlocked the door and walked in on us while we were in various states of undress! She then called the police and said we broke into the room. We will never ever, ever stay in another Econo Lodge anywhere and sure as the sky is blue we will never recommend them to anyone anywhere ever again.
I wish we could rate the hotel a zero, but a 1 is the lowest we could give.
Sorry to say, I can now say I have stayed in a roach motel. Rooms were not as clean as I would like. Motel needs a complete cleaning, painting and updating.

My hotel stay there was horrible, the second night we stayed we discovered a nest of roaches, the sheets were spotty and unclean, any more details i would give would cause me to write an essay. We explained this to the desk clerks who english was...
Good place to stay, bed more comfortable than typical hotel for the price, service was well liked. However, our room was cleaned only once the 3 days we were there. Other than that, the stay was good and we would stay there again for the price.
