We have stayed here many times and this is a great budget hotel for the area. There's nothing fancy about it, but if you have hiked or skied all day and looking for a reasonably priced hotel with a pool and a hot tub, give it a try.

We wouldn't go back. Our room was fine, but considering we were only there because our son was in the emergency room most of the night, it was far too highly priced. Their customer service needs to improve; the hotel owners and staff need to know when to give a troubled family a break.

That about explains it. I have stayed in a lot of hotels (I traveled through Europe for 4 months staying in a different hotel in a different city every 2-3 days) and this was by far the worst.
Everything in our room (both rooms, we requested a new room because the first was disgusting, the other room was actually worse) was stained and disgusting. I felt like I was going to leave with some third world disease.
The management and service were horrible. They would not do anything to help improve our stay. Nothing in the room worked from the alarm clock to the TV (the TV kind of worked, I think it was the first color TV ever produced, the remote didn't though).
We would have found another hotel but this was during SnoeDown and every room in Lake Placid was booked. This also caused the Econo Lodge to raise there prices for that weekend. It was ridiculous. I cannot say enough bad things about it, it was just horrible, we are actually going through our credit card company to get our money back, since management would not do anything and they were incredibly rude about it.
Honestly, there was nothing good about this hotel, it has a pool but I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole. The place should be condemned.

My family (as a child) always stayed in Econo Lodges if there was one available. I have just always used them. I believe that they are a good value for their money.
Doors locked with double locks and with a chain. There was adequate lighting in the halls and at the sliding glass doors.
