My husband, my 6 month old son and I stayed at the Econo Lodge in Chandler, Ok on July 13, 2007 and it was terrible. I looked up the hotel on-line before I got there and it looked fairly nice. It showed that they had an outdoor pool, that the rooms were accomodated with soap and shampoo and each of them had hair dryers in them. Whenever we got there, the pool was empty and was filthy. We made it to our room on the back side of the hotel that was facing a fence. When we walked in it was ok. Then I had to change my son's diaper and there wasn't a trash can, so I requested one, while I was doing that I also had to request a hair dryer that was not in the room. I as told that I had to come to the front desk and get it, so I did and whenever I got there the manager, which I also think may have been the owner, told me that his maid service is sometimes LAZY. I would say so, if a maid even exists at this hotel. We finally got settled and laid down to sleep and the people above us decided to have relations all night and sounded like they were going to fall through the floor the whole night, NONE of us slept that night. During the middle of the night my husband jumped up because something was crawling on him and he had a huge cockroach crawling up him. We decided to get up after that and I went to take a shower and while I was in there, I saw a roach crawling in the shower and there was also what looked like old used toilet paper wrapped around the handle in the shower. DISGUSTING! When we were packing everything up to leave, we looked under the bed to make sure that we weren't leaving anything and there were some nasty condoms under our bed. Whenever we went to have our COMPLIMENTARY breakfast, we quickly changed our mind and gave them our key, because the breakfast was nasty fruit loops and frosted flakes that looked years old. So we turned in our key and left. I promise that I will not only never stay at this Econo Lodge again, but I will never stay in one anywhere else ever again.
