Econo Lodge Burlington Hotel - Page 1

I booked a 2 night stay at this hotel through choicehotels.com. The room I paid for was a king bed, no smoking, free wireless internet, microwave refrigerator, desk, 25 inch TV and recliner. When I got to the hotel around 5 pm the person that checked us in gave us room 265. This room did not have the free wireless internet or the microwave refrigerator. I went down to the front desk and talked with this person. He made an attempt to put us in a smoking room. He stated that the room was at the exit and the smoke would not bother us. I informed him, I was not accepting anything less than what I paid for. I informed him that I wanted to see the manager. He stated the manager would not be back in until the next day. I informed him that I wanted to leave a message for the manager. While I wrote the message, the clerk went and found another room. He told me that had everything that I had paid for. Upon entering room 156, It did have a microwave refrigerator. It did not have the free wireless internet service. It also had a filthy bathroom that had not been cleaned by the service staff. The commode had urine all over the bowl. The sink was nasty. The shower had used wash clothes hanging from it. I called the clerk at the front desk and informed him of the situation. I told him the bathroom was nasty and needed to be cleaned. He stated that the service staff had gone for the day and that would not be possible. I advised my wife not to use the bathroom until we could get someone to clean it the next day. Also when I informed the clerk that the room did not have the internet that I had paid for, he informed me that I could sit in their lobby and use their computer. I like him know that I was a business traveler and I was very disappointed in the false advertisement by them in stating they had the wireless service in the room. I would have to say this was the worst hotel stay I every experienced and I can never recommend this hotel to anyone.

P.S. The manager of the hotel never responded to the written message I left him in regards to my compliant.
