35 year old male with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure
After having the pleasure of staying at the Econo Lodge many times. There are many reasons I come back again and again. Speaking with owner and General Manger Chet Patel I also realize they try and manage the experience of the guest to the fullest extent. It is nothing like what they had posted in the other review that it is nasty. Pool company manage the pool area and restaurant is leased it has nothing to do with motel management.

57 year old female with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure
This hotel is in Jasper Texas, My Husband and I stayed 8-6-07, the sign reads new rooms, clean pool, hair dryers, oh my gosh! The hair dryer had coils hanging out, the television had a large wall clock design burnt into the screen, and I sure never did see any preium movie chanels as their sign read 3 channels from India or Pakistan. The tub still had dirty standing water from the previous poor souls, the carpet was so sticky I had to make towel runners just to walk on, the pool was a beautiful island blue (dyed) with no smell of clorine at all, but the worst is we are pretty large (fat) people but a queen bed fits us okay, after going out to eat and then to the pool and getting back I noticed we had a full size bed not a queen, I called to let them know they had made a mistake and that this was a full size bed, the desk clerk told me "no maam that is a california queen" I almost lost it and told him no it is not I know a full size bed when I see one and not only that the sheets also say full, when I asked for a room with a king (I'M sure was a Queen) he said I had checked in over 2 hours ago and he would have to charge me for the room full price, what a rip off. My husband and I are retired military and have stayed at many hotels/motels in our 36 yrs together and this was by far the worst. Please do not give them any of your money, as for the resturant is also owned or run by them, and nasty dirty.
