Echo Basin Ranch located in the Four Corners area of Southwestern Colorado and is sthe perfect location for your next vacation. We are a non-structured guest ranch where YOU plan for your own individual, family or group activities. We are situatied at 7800' elevation, where the ranch is covered with lush meadows, lakes, streams, mountain views and high mountian forests of Aspen and Ponderosa Pines and the weather is delightful!

I would not recommend staying at Echo Basin Ranch. First, it is not a "dude ranch," but a run down and poorly maintained RV park. Everything (or nearly everything) is broken, and if it weren't for the work campers, what few things that do work wouldn't. The restaurant is never open, the staff is AWOL (unless you count the work campers who are slaving around the place to get the buildings and weeds under control) and nothing is as it seems on the Echo Basin Website (which hasn't been updated in years).
After reading reviews, I now realize that the pool heater has been broken for several years (when it is open at all), the bathrooms and cabins are regularly not clean or sanitary (as was in my experience), and the staff is often AWOL.
As for the amenities as they stand today, there is no driving range (but lots of astro-turf randomly arranged about the grounds), no 9 hole putting green, the basketball hoop is on the ground (with broken glass all over the court), the volleyball net is hanging by a thread, there are no horseshoe pits I can find (but there is a sad pile of dirt for kids to use as a "sandbox") the "wifi" access is in the musty and dusty "pro shop" (when it works, that is), the pool is frigid, the "hot" tub is around 99 degrees (now that it finally opened--and has the weakest "jets" I have ever felt), the weeds have overtaken the grass (and just about everything else) and where there is grass it desperately needs some mowing, the cabins are dank and in disrepair, the "restaurant" is never open, the office is almost always shut and dark, and the only people who seem to care about any of this are the work campers who have no power to do anything about it.
The saddest part is that you can see that this place was once very nice, and it even still has potential. The location is great and the views are wonderful. However, it is clear that the management or owner (or whoever is in charge) has lost interest and could care less about upkeep, guest satisfaction, or anything else having to do with Echo Basin "Ranch." (if you can call four horses that nobody can ride a "ranch.")
It is shame, but I definitely discourage anyone from coming to stay here until new ownership takes over (it is for sale, if you are interested) or someone who has some control over the place starts to care about it. It is just too bad....
Great ranch just outside Durango

Excellent
This pet friendly ranch is appox 25 mins from Durango with beautiful scenery along the way. Surrounded by deer, elk, and other wildlife this ranch is a perfect fit for anyone who wants to get away from hustle and bustle of the city. Its location is...
This place was so beautiful! My family enjoyed the A frame cabin. It was cozy and comfortable. It was wonderful to have a microwave and fridge. The restaurant on site wasn't open due to weather, but Durango is only about 30-45 minutes away...
We would not go back to Echo Basin as it was poorly managed, dirty, and poor value for the high price we paid. The first cabin we were assigned to had broken furniture the chair leg was held up with a cement block. They did give us another cabin...

Our stay at Echo Basin was not a good experience. The cabins are dirty and management was very hard to find. The resturant was closed not open as advertised. Several light bulbs were burnt out and the first cabin they put us in had a chair with a broken leg and a cement block used to hold it up. Will not go back there.
