I've stayed at ExtendedStay hotels in 4 or 5 different cities, always thru Priceline.com. They're usually pretty decent, and have kitchen facilities, which is nice. Inevitably, though, they have incredibly hard & uncomfortable beds/mattresses. Absolutely the hardest and worst beds of any chain that I've ever stayed at.
The one in Springfield has the same problem. Additionally, I had to wait 10-15 minutes to get any service at the front desk, despite ringing the bell. This was at 8 p.m. on a Thursday night, not in the middle of the night or anything.
Finally, I noticed some mud in the elevator that night, which was still there the following morning around 9 a.m. So housekeeping definitely gets a failing grade, in this visit.
Overall, ExtendedStay is not a bad chain--it's affordable, usually clean, and normally the staff is pleasant enough. But if you stay there, plan on an uncomfortable beds and not the best night of sleep. Maybe if enough of us complain to the hotel......

We have stayed at this outlet many times and have always had good experiences. We get a discount because of the number of stays we have and they have actually lowered our bill on their own initiative rather than us having to ask.
I am very likely
to return to the ESA Springfield-South.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.
