Although the rooms are clean, their non smoking rooms often reek of cigarette smoke, which can be very unpleasant if you are not a smoker. It generally takes fifteen minutes or more to check in even if there is no one ahead of you. I only stay there on the business trips because of the cost and because the rooms have a little kitchen. So unless you need kitchen facilities I would not recommend staying there. Although the location is convenient there are a fair amount of other places to stay in the vicinity.

The check in process took over fifteen minutes. The person behind the counter seemed as though he had not been trained thoroughly and was not very polite. The room was a non smoking room, but it was obvious that someone had previously smoked in the room.

The non smoking room smelt strongly of cigarettes. It took twenty five minutes to check in because the check in clerk could not find the reservation info and had difficulty with both the computer and the printer. Then the key I was given did not match the room, so I had to go back to the office and wait another fifteen minutes while that was sorted out.

The hotel was nice with a friendly staff, but very hard to get to because of construction.

I was greeted with a smile. I asked for directions and was given excellent help.

The location is convenient. The rooms are always very clean. However the staff at the front desk are usually not trained very well. It often takes over fifteen minutes to check-in. Additionally there are often rowdy people that stay there and the staff usually will not do anything about it. Several times there have been intoxicated people outside my door in the parking lot partying after midnight. The only reason I have stayed there frequently is because that is where my client usually makes a reservation for me.

There is one person who works at the Extended Stay America in Spartanburg that always has difficulty checking people in even though he has worked there for quite awhile. Although he seems very nice, he is totally incompetent.
