The only positive about this place is location. Make that three positives, location, location, location.
I am on my last night after staying here for a week during a continuing ed course around the corner. I was attracted to "fully equipped kitchen" and "high speed internet", and then assumed that I'd see typical modest-quality hotel amenities, like in-room coffee, standard toiletries (soap, shampoo/conditioner, lotion, maybe a shower cap).
Here, "fully equipped kitchen" means a stove with two burners but only one pot. I confirmed with the front desk, only one pot (I got two lids, though). It also means adequate flatware and dishes for one use by two people, or two uses by one person, without handwashing. No sponge or dishsoap provided, I had to ask. What soap I was given would not lather, I ended up using a spatula to scrape the one pot after making scrambled eggs.
Here, "high-speed internet" means wireless 56K. I kid you not. I don't even know what else to say, other than this is not high-speed by any definition. If I wanted dial-up speed, I would have stayed somewhere else.
Here, the only toiletries/amenities provided are two small bars of soap, an ironing board and an iron with something burned onto the plate. I used a towel between the iron and my clothes, and something very black came off the iron onto the towel. I asked for shampoo, conditioner, something, I didn't think I'd need to bring it. No go, they "usually" have shampoo, but not this week apparently.
They do have in-room coffee and two Showtime channels, that mysteriously were changed to Home Shopping Network the one night I have free to watch. Oh well, no problem, just load up the old Hulu. Oh, wait.
The sheets were clean, the bathroom smelled moldy, like wet towels that air-dried too long. I can still smell it in my hair and can't wait to wash it out.
Seriously, I wished I'd read my own review before booking here, and I would never stay here again. I tried to change hotels, but everything was booked. My main reason to stay here to save money by cooking for myself, but it was such a hassle I ended up eating out anyway. The only thing I made in my room was tea, and I kept some beer in the fridge. I could have done that at the Holiday Inn across the street.
