Step back into Old World Charm at Dunbar House 1880, where you can relax in comfort and ease. Enjoy homemade Rosemary Lemonade and cookies on the porch, or sip freshly ground coffee in the parlor by the fire. Delectable afternoon appetizers with hand-crafted local wine await you in your room. You are inivted to stroll through the century-old rose garden, and curl up with a book in the hammock, surrounded by soothing sounds from the trickling water fountains. It's an easy walk to dinner, art galleries, and boutiques. A stroll down tree-lined Main Street Murphys remains much the same as it was during the great Gold Rush, alongside upscale new additions.

WOW, what a gem! I cannot say enough about the Dunbar House. Everyone is so friendly and they bend over backwards to be helpful and to make sure that you are comfortable. Enjoyed an evening in the parlor with a bottle of wine, and had a great conversation with the owners. Breakfast was an exquisite dining experience. They even have their own coffee blend that was wonderful. We've already booked our room for October so we can enjoy the the fall colors.
cant wait to go back as soon as we can

The breakfast and housekeeping staff were excellent. They served a creative breakfast which was very tasty and different from your ordinary continental breakfast. In the past we have stayed at other bed and breakfast inns where the innkeepers couldn't do enough to make your stay comfortable. The innkeepers of the Dunbar House were hardly ever around and when they were there it was only to make a token appearance. In the evening when we returned from dinner the whole house smelled like smoke. All of the guests were concerned. We tried to call the innkeepers on the numbers that were left for an emergency to no avail. The fire department was called and fortunately it didn't turn out to be a big problem. The next morning the innkeeper appeared very blase about the whole episode. When I came home all of my clothes smelled like smoke.

Stayed there in March and I'm still a little peaved about the cancellation policy.....10 days that's right. I was stuck due to business and called 48 hours ahead to explain my predicament asking for a concession on the cancellation policy...
Nothing. The service was GREAT, the food was wonderful. The people we ran into at the bed and breakfast were very nice and friendly. The room was decorated very well and the attention to detail was OUTSTANDING.
