Worst. Hotel. Ever. Their website looks great but it is literally a lie. The pool is half drained and filled with scum. The patio is torn up concrete. Parts of the outside walls are falling off. It is dirty and clearly hasn't been painted in ye

Okay
Host was friendly and prepared for our arrival. Rooms were very basic and somewhat clean. Beds were made every day and new towels were stocked. Cable TV and a/c worked fine. If you don't mind very basic accomodations this place will do for the price....

I recently stayed for a weekend and was charged an additional $100.00 three days after checking out of my room. I did nothing to the room to warrant such a charge, nor will the manager refund my money.
The place really wasn't THAT bad. We only stayed one night--just needed to escape from the city for a day. It is pretty much in the middle of the city, near the lake & restaurants. The room was clean, beds were comfortable enough, A/C worked well, a

I see alot of bad reviews for this place. I didn't think it was bad! My husband and I were in town for him to work at a local tattoo shop. The staff of the hotel didn't speak english very well and the front desk person was really hard to understa

The people who worked there were very helpful and very friendly. It only took about 3 minutes to actually get into our room!! Very fast and curtious service with a smile. Very clean and lots of fresh air, not stuffy. Windows were kept open if you needed them open out on the balcony. Though we didn't get a chance to use their pool, it looked very clean and nice. I would recommend this hotel to anyone especially if they need a reasonable price and a quiet place to stay. Privacy was top priority. Unlike other hotels where they might knock at the door at 8 am, this place did not do that to us. Great location and fantastic service, we would give this hotel an A+ rating.

We booked this hotel online - the website is very deceptive. We had to change rooms 4 times during our one night stay. The first room the carpet was soaked, the second room the air conditioner was torn apart and the dirty filter was laying on the bed...the third room was not cleaned. Finally, we got our room for the night and there were holes in the bedspreads, the tub was dirty and I think I got bit by bed bugs!!! I will never stay at this hotel again.

The best part of my stay at the Downtown Erie Hotel was... The day I left and went home. What a dump. Worst hotel I've ever stayed in. Old building spray painted with graffiti. Badly cracked and chipped sidewalks. One building support pillar cracked and caved in appears to be nearing collapse. Pool water very cloudy and dirty and not cleaned during my entire stay. Stinky smelly dirty rooms with filthy moldy mildew infested bathrooms that have no exhaust fan. I stayed in 2 rooms because the ac unit was non functioning in the first room so the front desk clerk moved me to a different room where amazingly, that ac unit broke down the very next day! (with no apology either) Bed mattresses totally completely worn out like sleeping on the low end of a trash dump. Speaking of trash, the garbage cans in the hallways and corridors were not emptied at all, in 2 days, consequently overflowing onto the floor. Lobby has a strong, unpleasant, nauseating odor of cigarettes and down the hall is the lounge that incredibly enough, smells even worse! Disgusting! But have no fear because right across the street is a wine/liquor store and an escort service! My room cost $79 plus tax but quite honestly, I wouldn't stay again if they paid ME $79 a night! Disgraceful! This hotel should be immediately condemned.
