Poor quality hotel, and rude management

35 year old man with a economy budget, traveling for leisure
The Hotel Manager was extremely rude. When I called to confirm my reservation, he told me over and over again that I did not have a reservation there. When I showed up with a friend that had checked in already, my reservation had all of a sudden appeared.
Also, I took a look at my friend's room before I checked in, and the phone was missing the numbers. On the TV, the only clear channel was the Playboy channel. So, I didn't even bother checking in. I canceled the reservation at the hotel. The desk clerk did allow me to cancel without a charge. But, when I was confirming that my credit card would not be charged, the hotel manager came into the lobby and became confrontational with me.
