DownTown Hotel and Spa

It was located in the old historic district, it had great accommodations, a great staff, great service and wonderful vacations packages.

This hotel made me feel sophisticated: The great staff went out of their way to please. They had great knowledge of the area and they handled one problem with the key immediately.

This is a lovely old building under relatively new management (so we were told). The refurbishment was not as far along as I was led to believe. The art deco style with lots of interesting architectural details was appealing, but the public areas were unclean. The air conditioning in our room failed necessitating a move to a new room in the middle of the night. The noise from outside is loud at times. The staff were friendly but incompetent at times.

Our visit to the spa was dreadful. The facilities are old which I found charming, but many of the facilities seemed dirty and in poor repair. The staff seemed to all be new; they were not very friendly.

This hotel is very outdated. The room had very worn furniture and rugs. The whole building smells bad. There's mold and mildew on balconies, and in the bathrooms. The parking is horrible. They ran out of clean linens, and it took us five calls and six hours later to get them.
