Though there was a nice remodel, there are some things which should have been takin into account. The a/c can be programmed to a specific temp but then the room gets freezing when it turns on, then you're sweating by the time it kicks on again, not to mention it is very loud. I am NOT a very picky person but to add injury to insult, my receipt showed me being billed $136 and I was billed $157-keep in mind I was told my bill would be less than BOTH of these prices. However, it was a friend's wedding and I could not cancel my reservation the day of so I sucked up paying $136, but now that I see I paid $157 I am NOT happy.
I stayed at this hotel in Rochester for two nights in mid-May 2008. It looked nicer than others I have stayed at in Rochester in past years and I liked the fact that it was not too noisy despite the fact that it was full of 16 and 17 year old boys and girls from all over for a soccer showcase tournament.
BUT, after we arrived late Friday night, left early Saturday morning (by 7:00 a.m.) and did not return until 10 p.m., we found our room had not been cleaned and had no fresh towels. When I complained to the desk, they suggested I must have put out the do not disturb sign (yea, right, at 7 a.m.). I said I had not and asked if I could get some fresh towels by morning. We had to leave early that next day, and when we returned, the room still had not been touched other than to have left a couple towels on top of the beds. When I went to check out, I asked for reduction in the rate. They finally agreed to take 20% off (of a $127 nightly fee plus tax) but only took $20 off in the end, but we rushed off because it was Mother's Day and we had to get home. Then my credit card bill came and it turned out that they charged me an EXTRA $154 dollar on top of the $290 that Hilton had charged as an advance online purchase. So far I haven't had my phone calls returned (they say their accountant must handle this problem).
My advice: DO NOT BE DECEIVED BY APPEARANCES. NEVER HAD A WORSE HOTEL EXPERIENCE, and I stay in hotels several times a year for both business and pleasure.

Very good Hotel, Good price, Good breakfast, plenty of fruits, oatmeal and all the fatty traditional items. The room was clean, nice bathroom, excellent pool and hut tub. I've been in other Hotels in the area and this is the best, trust me.

My stay at the Doubletree hotel was excellent. It was my first stay with them and I will certainly stay there again on future trips to Rochester.
I thought the room was comfortable and beautiful and I loved the toiletries left in the bathroom. I thought the cookies upon check in were a nice touch as well.
I am very likely
to return to the Doubletree Hotel Rochester.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.
