At the Doubletree Hotel Houston Downtown, I appreciated the ambiance and attitudes of the hotel employees to start with, but what really impressed me was the next day. I think I had a touch of food poisoning, from the restaurant I went to, outside the hotel, because I got very sick. I was throwing up all morning. I called the front desk to ask for a late check out, because I knew that I couldn't throw up and drive at the same time. They were courteous enough to let me stay until my stomach settled - at no extra charge! I don't know many places that would have extended themselves to this degree. I just felt this was above and beyond the call of duty.
