Doubletree Hotel Charlottesville

I have stayed at this property in the past, but had not been there in a while. Boy am I glad I decided to stay again. From talking with staff, which by the way they are great! I found out that the hotel just under went a huge renovation. The whole hotel looks brand new. I would suggest this hotel to any of my friends and family. The rooms are wonderful, the food is great, and what a nice location right off 29. Cant ask for much more.

Offered Priceline $69 for a "3 star" hotel...ended up in this dump.

The bathroom was in serious need of renovation and cleaning...the ceiling was falling in above the shower, and they didn't even have a rod to hold the toilet paper roll onto the holder. We went into the bar for a quiet drink, but they had Fox News blearing on their TV. The front desk pipes music out into the circle drive in front of the hotel that can be heard from the rooms...all night.

Never again.

The indoor pool was not heated and was too cold to swim in. The hot tub was conversely too hot to sit in. The restaurant had a very nice breakfast buffet and the view of the mountains was spectacular.

The room was nice. A wake up call was given at a quarter past five o'clock even though I did not ask for one. The front desk gave us free cookies to make up for it.

I have stayed at this hotel around 20 times in the past year, I find that when I book it via a discount web site the rooms are not as nice compared to buying it via my travel agent.

Their beds all have the pillow top and come with both soft and firm pillows. The location is a bit hard to find for the first time as it is behind a car dealer and Sam's club. Compared to other hotels in the area, the Doubletree is the best value.
