A friend of mine and I enjoyed a show next door to the Doubletree hotel, and were very hungry after the show was over. We popped in next door at the hotel resteraunt and found the decor to be pretty nice, and were in hopes of really good food.
What a bad experience it was. Our cocktails were the first things to be screwed up. I don't know how it's possible to screw up a gin and tonic, but they did it. Then it was an un-Godly long wait for the appatizer to arrive. We had both ordered the crab cakes appatizer and expected it to be a serving of two crab cakes per person( because it is listed as crab cakes on the menu) and the appatizer cost is over 8.00. The appatizer was falling appart, and there was so much sauce on it, that it ruined the taste of the appatizer. Then we were in hopes the entree would be better, but were wrong.
I had a Cheeseburger (14.50) and my friend had a NY strip steak(over 20.00). The steak we can understand being expensive, but a steak over an eigth of an inch thick for the price would have been appreciated. 14.50 for a cheeseburger, you would expect this to be the holy grail of cheeseburgers, but it was horrible.
Both entrees were tasteless, not cooked the way we asked, and every single french fry on my plate was burned to the point of being non-edible, the cole slaw that came with the meal was the nastiest item of all. It was warm, soggy, and had a bad odor that was noticble after you put it in your mouth.
And to top it all off.....the service lacked every consideration of the word. It was not service at all.
We also found it strange that when the bill came for 75.00 and my friend decided that he would pay with his credit card the reciept that he got back was for 80.00
I don't usually write reviews of resteraunts, and this is my first, but this was worth saying something about.
Stay Away!!
