33 year old with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure
This hotel is a solid choice for families on a budget who want to be in the thick of Times Square. Evidently, this hotel also attracts a steady stream of Euro trash and redneck tourists. A lot of people who acted like they've never left their house before (e.g., dirty diapers left out in the halls, kids screaming up and down the halls).
The check-in/out process was a bit of a circus -- extremely long lines; my room wasn't ready upon check in. The lobby was tiny (and an elevator ride away from the street level) with bags scattered about.
Excellent views of Times Square from a handful of suites, but beware that these "Times Square View" rooms are significantly smaller and inefficiently laid out compared to the other suites. Time Square View rooms are also located right across from the elevators.
I am not likely
to return to the Doubletree Guest Suites Times Square New York City.
I would not recommend it to friends.

My family has visited NYC twice and both times we stayed at the DT-TS. We love it! Great location, helpful staff, very adequate suites. For a southern boy like me the beakfast in the restaurant was fantastic, especially since I'm a Hilton...

Ok hotel - big, but no-frills lobby - though free lobby wireless is very fast. Location right in the heart of Times Square is of course perfect for tourists and the hotel definitely seems family friendly. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. I would recommend that others stay here - you pay for what you get, but not a dollar more.
