My husband and I planned a last-minute, overnight stay here during our vacation in February.
It was the only place available, and between the amenities list and the hefty price we mistakenly thought it would be nice. When we checked in they insisted we take a key for the bar even though we didn't think we'd need it.
When we got to the room the bar was open and the most expensive item was missing. And the bathroom light didn't work. Back to the front desk and I had to wait for help, and then they wrote a little note about the bar (which no longer existed when we checked out). I asked them to send someone up to replace the bathroom light, and when he came he said the ballast? It was broken, pulled out and put back in the bulb, and said it would be fine as long as we didn't turn off the light for the rest of our stay. Right.
The hot tub was colder than the pool.
Worst of all, on the cab ride back, we were told that someone had died in the place earlier that year, that the hotel had been involved in a cover-up, and that someone else had been hospitalized a week or so before in the same room for the same thing. Carbon monoxide. We slept with the windows open, listening to the peaceful sounds of the construction work going on outside our window.
I wouldn't knowingly take my chances with a hotel that looked away the first time there was a problem and tried to cover it up the second time.
