The staff was friendly, the hotel was nice, there was poor lighting in the guest room where I stayed. The food was consistently good, particularly since it was banquet style for about fifty people. Overall, it was a good stay.
The bellhops were kind without being overbearing, which was nice. Also, it was nice to see turndown service with mints.

My husband and I travel to the Tampa/St Pete area yearly for 2 weeks. 95% of my family lives there and all have their beach houses, etc. We always choose to stay at The Don.
They are wonderful on all parts, service, they remember your name after check in, valet is fast and courteous, concierge is wonderful, the food is really good (expensive for everyday taste but expected at a resort), the ice cream shop downstairs gives a glance to the simple things in life. The maid staff by in large is Spanish speaking, but if treat them with respect they return the respect, they completely catered to my daughter, always made sure her baby doll had a little chocolate on her pillow too!

The hotel was very nice and clean. It offered great service. The only problem was that a water main pipe broke while I was there and the hotel had no water the morning I left. It was not their fault and they handled it pretty well.
The hotel staff pampered their guests. All the amenities were available.

Loew's hotels are in a central location. They are comfortably and tastefully decorated. The hotel staff is very accommodating. The overall experience is pleasurable.
They greet you when you come in to the hotel. If you call with a problem or question the hotel staff is quick to respond.

The Don Cesar is a very nice hotel with a friendly helpful staff. The one problem we had with plumbing was immediately taken care of. I would definitely stay there again.
