Great value for the $$. If you're looking for a unique hotel away from the name brands and freeways this is it! Extremely friendly staff, great breakfast buffet and top notch accomodations. Large fitness canter, pool and spa. I will return here in the future when visiting family in San Jose area.

The rooms and facilities are wonderful, unfortunatly this hotel is let down by the some members of staff. When we originaly rang to pre-book a room they put the phone down before we had finished asking about the hotel. When we arrived the receptionist who checked us in advised us we would be downgraded as all the king rooms had been allocated despite our pre booking a room with a king sized bed. No apology was given and no offer of assistance with our bags. We were attending a wedding at the hotel and it seemed a few other guests were treated the same way. It took someone from the main wedding party to complain resulting in our subsequently being given a better room. I felt that the hotel seems to cater for weddings and conferences and they have forgotton about the paying guest and treat everyone like a production line. The staff in the dining room and housekeeping were however extremely friendly and helpful. Maybe the management should look at the front of house team as I would certainly not recommend it to any friends and lovely as the surroundings are I would not recommend it as a wedding venue

Good
It was beautiful and historical.Poor food & they couldn't give me nearby options. Update your staff on where they are located, what is nearby. If you really have a day spa, try putting a staff in it. Also, the gym needs some type of air conditioning.

Excellent
Price scheme on menus was confusing...on dinner menu desserts were $9.00, but across from item it would state $6.00 (for the accompanying drink with dessert.) This almost looked like a ploy to hit the many businesses that foot the bill.

Old fashion establishment in South San J. The hotel provides rooms with traditional mansion-style décor. The amenities were excellent: oversized pool and well equipped gym facilities. This hotel property is surrounded by large sections of lawns and the view is excellent. The property itself is located in the midst of residential neighborhood and there is no shop or restaurant within the walking vicinity.
I am very likely
to return to the Dolce Hayes Mansion.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.
