My family and I stayed there for three nights and four days while on vacation at Disney World. The check-in process was okay. We were held up for a little longer than we would have liked because we wanted to get out to the parks. The staff lets you pick a decade (no guarantees about getting it though).
The fifties had staircases shaped like bowling pins and sayings around such as "Sock Hop" and "Rock and Roll" Also in the fifties there was a bowling-pin shaped pool.
The sixties had yo-yo-shaped staircases and some of the sayings were "Peace, Love, and Happiness" and "Mop Top" The pool was shaped like a giant flower and was called the Hippy Dippy pool!
The seventies were eight-track player shaped staircases with sayings like "Discotheque" and "Big Wheels" No pool, but a giant foosball set.
In the eighties, the staircases were giant Rubik's cubes. I was only in there once, but a few of the sayings I remember were "Preppy" and "Aerobics Craze"
The nineties were the last decade. They had a computer-shaped pool with the sayings of "Networking" and "Big Business" Not my favorite decade.
My family stayed in the sixties, which was not too far from the food court and the pool. The room was nice, two queen beds, a TV, and a safe. There's room for a rollaway bed also, if you need one. The first night, we hit the Magic Kingdom. With our extra magic hours, we were able to stay in the park until 3 am. So of course, we did and decided to sleep in the next day. However, the room service woke us up around 8 am. That's not the first thing you want to hear in the morning when you're exhausted. So you should probably put that little "Privacy, please" card on the door if you feel like sleeping late.
The food court had four different stations, cafeteria-style. I only went to one, and every time I had the Turkey Ciabatta sandwich. It is excellent; I highly recommend it. The earliest you can get breakfast is 7, I believe, and they offer pancakes, omelets, eggs, pastries, cereal, and lots more.
Our view was excellent! We were overlooking Hourglass Lake and it was nice to be able to see the sun rising up over it.
On the whole, it was a very fun stay and I would stay there again in a second. It truly is the best of the value resorts, and is good enough to be a moderate.
