This is one of my favorite Disney resorts. Don't let the "value" category fool you. Disney truly goes above and beyond to put you in the center of the magic. This hotel is literally larger than life. The colors and over-sized icons make this place so much fun!!! You have to try the Tye-dyed Cheesecake during your stay. It is wonderful!

During each of my three stays, we have experienced wonderful mousekeeping service (including some extra towel animals to brighten the day when I found myself stuck in bed with the flu). The only drawback we have experienced would be the lines for the buses. They can be crazy sometimes, but you have to keep in mind that Pop Century has their own buses. Most of Disney's resorts share buses. My advice would be to find the shortest bus line and hop on. Regardless of the wait for the buses, I highly recommend a stay.

Ok, my family and I stayed here for 4-5 days. Lemme tell ya, we had a BLAST! Sure half the time we were in the parks, but when we were at the resort, I was usually in the pool, my little brother was watching TV, my mom was shopping, and my dad was at the pool bar. It was very clean and to me, our room seemed a lot like (except for the pictures) The Contemperary which is a Deluxe resort. Pop Century=value resort. Wow. Really the only thing that ever made me stop for a minute was the food. It was.....ok. But when your at Disney are you really gonna eat some resort food when you could be having breakfast in Epcot in Norway, Cinderella's Castle, The Crystal Palace, The Polynisien (sorry if thats not spelled right), The Grand Floridian, and believe me MUCH more. I am super excited about going back there in October with my BFF Kaitlin.

I loved the POP century! Nice clean hotel, great staff and the transportation to and from the airport as well as to the parks save you quite a bit. We have always previously stayed on international drive at more expensive hotels, but this was by far a better value. This isn't a luxury hotel, so don't expect it to be. Its great though, we stayed at a very pricey hotel last year and my daughter preferred this one. Great for the kids, the pools are sparkling clean and nicely heated. The air conditioning in the rooms is just perfect too.

This is a "value" resort but I feel that given that, it over delivers in every aspect. There is a nice lake where my daughter enjoyed looking at turtles, fish and we saw bunnies as well. Great arcade! Get the mug with free refills. Its a great value as you can get unlimited refills for the duration of your stay (within the hotel). The food court is open until midnight so its great when you get back from a long day at the parks. Oh and the cleaning staff make little towel creations out of your towels for you - nice gesture for the kids :)

member icon The "Motel 6" of Disney Resorts

Overall, this was an OK place to stay during my vacation to Disney World. I thought of it as the "Motel 6" of all the Disney Resorts. The room was clean and neat. I had to call maintenance the first night to unclog my bathroom sink because it was not draining. They had it fixed the following day. The finishes (carpet, bathroom fixtures, etc.) were really outdated and needed replacement badly.

The worst part of Disney's Pop Century Resort was the food court. I would consider it more like an elementary school cafeteria - the quality of the food was terrible. I tried everything from the eggs to the hamburgers to the donuts, etc. All of it was nasty, tasteless crap. Oh, and, of course, WAY OVERPRICED!! I could have cooked a better breakfast myself (and that ain't sayin' much).

DO NOT waste your money and buy the "souvenir mug" IF you don't plan on spending a lot of time at the resort. This mug is only refillable at the resort itself, SO if you plan on spending most of the time within the Disney theme parks then DON'T BOTHER BUYING THE MUG.

One last suggestion, if you plan on checking in for your flight at the luggage check-in for the Disney Magical Express plan on this taking AT LEAST an hour. The desk was short staffed and the employees took their sweet time checking in bags.

This was my 1st trip to Disney. My sister had stayed at this hotel several times before and raved about it. Said it was a great deal for the price. We booked a grand gathering for 18 people and had confirmations for preferred rooms poolside which were to be next to each other. We had lots of kids ranging 11 months to 16 and wanted to be close to pool and front of hotel(hotel is very big). We checked in and were told we were all the way in the back and none of us were near each other. We basically had to demand to see a manager after 45 minutes of arguing. Even after showing them our confirmations, they tried to say there was nothing they could do. Anyway, after telling them this was unacceptable and standing firm, we were finally moved the next day to where we were originally supposed to be. Things did get better though. I liked that the hotel was kid friendly, and our rooms were clean. They were a bit on the small side, but we really weren't in them too often. For the price, it was ok. Oh, and the beds were not very comfortable.

I am somewhat likely to return to the Disney's Pop Century Resort.
I might recommend it to friends.

1st Disney vacation. 10 people total over 8,000 spent 3 rooms. We checked in and found out we were in the 80's building way away. We have small kids wanted to be closer to big pool. We called and they said they could move us closer, which was great. Told us to pack up and leave luggage inside locked room and they would move to next room. Well 9:15 they moved our luggage. Went to park and got back to our new room. Well my laptop bag was missing. New laptop, ipod, dvd's phone chargers,ect.. All in bag. They said there was no manager to talk too didn't have one. I spent my first 2 days in a small office on their comp changing my passwords ect. Ruined all of 3 family's 1st Disney vacation. The baggage company bags-n-cars will not take care of this problem. Would not return calls or respond to emails. They bags-n-cars( employee) had custody of my property and lost it. They should be held responsible. I'm letting everyone one know. Watch your property in Disney. It will get stolen, and blow you off like not their problem.

We stayed at the pop century resort 70's building from 07/15-07/21 2 adults 2 children ages 8/3. Our sign in was pleasant they even gave us 1st time travelers buttons to Walt Disney resort. Kids liked that.

Our rooms where as average as everyone describes them. Not much, 2 double beds and t.v. And nice cold air condition well worth it especially at night when you return back from the parks. We rented a fridge for $10/night well worth it as well, but they have an ice machine in every floor and soda dispenser.

Housekeeping was there everyday must have been in the afternoon as we had left everyday in the morning to the parks. They cleaned up everything well, made beds nicely and left towels made up of characters for the kids. Nice little gesture. There were always clean towels and fresh soaps and always had everything very well kept. Cleaning staff very friendly. They should be appreciated more for their work.

The hotel pools are good especially if you have children, will be worth the kiddie pool area, and pool not to deep for small ones as well. We didn't spend much time in the café as we had a dining plan and ate out mostly at the parks(well worth the price as most dinners per person where at least $100/n but keep in mind that for dinners make sure you have reservations especially character dining well worth it !)

I think 6-7 days is enough to cover all the parks we did everything we wanted. Our days would start as early as 9am that is when the 1st shuttle buses pick you up at the resort and take you to the parks. And than we would have lunch there and than come back to the hotel in the middle of the afternoon for a swim at the pool as the heat is too much (especially if you're used to Canadian weather you are going to fry down there).and than after we would get ready and head back to the parks for dinner that we had res. And than catch fireworks at night.

Make sure you see all the different parades in each park (usually in the afternoon sometime) and then fireworks at night well worth the excitement of Disney magic)

I would definitely come back to the pop as it is worth the stay and money. it's not worth stating at the moderate or luxurious resorts as there is no time to stay in you're room for that. if you think about it even those people who stay at those top resorts you see them catching the shuttles with you at the end of the day from the Disney parks as well. so point being is that whether you stay at a value or top notch resort were all there for the same reason to visit Disney and enjoy the magic. Difference being is by staying at pop we save money at the end of the trip.

My family and I just came back from staying at the Pop Century. There was some confusion during check in time with where we were told we would be staying. My request was fulfilled and we stayed in the 1960's builiding which was great because it was close to the kiddie pool and the larger pool, as well as the cafeteria area and gift shop. My children loved it here. The room is a regular size room, but was fine for us because we were only in it to sleep. I highly recommend the meal plan, it was so convenient and the few times we ate at the Pop Century there were many adult meal choices, the children's meal choices were a little more limited. We didn't have a problem with the buses running on time, but they do try to cram as many people in as possible, but that is any hotel. My husband and I were very impressed as we were leaving the Magic Kingdom at closing time, there were 3 buses one right after the other to pick us up to bring us to the Pop Century. All in all it was a great time and we will go back.

The best thing about the hotel, as with all of the hotels on Disney's grounds, was the shuttle bus between the hotel and the different parks.

This hotel made me feel excited: The Pop Century hotel, with its different era themed rooms, was just a great place. It had a really hip and cool feel to it and that carried over to the guests.

I am very likely to return to the Disney's Pop Century Resort.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

I stayed Jun 9th to 16th June 2007. First day in hotel there was a dirty wet facecloth on the shower head and a peanut bar from previous guests. Dirt behind TV had to be for the enire year. Room never vacumed. Bed never changed. Rooms never made up till2pm but normally 4pm. One day my baby was asleep when they came at 3pm so they hung clean towels on the door and never did the room. The food was awful. you lined up to get food and lined to pay and by the time you sat down the food was cold. No real healthy options. Fried chicken 4 days a week pizza, hot dog hamburger etc Small salads very expensive. Banada over a $1.00 Fridge rental $10.00/day. Bus service poor, long waits and crowded. Definitely need a car so you can get out and get food. One night after extra magic hours 300 people waited over an hour for buses. Our bus exceeded the number allowed on the bus.

Only good thing was extra magic hours and the drink cup which was $11.99 which gave you unlimited drinks for your entire stay. Milk not inclued in drinks. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. It was just housekeeping that was very bad and the food was no healthy and expensive.

I would never stay again without a car to get off the property to buy food and to avoid the overcrowded buses. Very disappointing given the price was $149.00/ night. Wish I had stayed off property and had a car it would have been better and half the price.

I visited the Pop Century 80's resort back in February of 2004. It was just my wife, daughter, and myself at the time. It was a true value for going to Disney. We found the constant buses running to the parks really convenient since we did not have a rental car. My daughter was three at the time so she found the splash park portion of the pool to be really entertaining. She also was a fan of the larger than life icons that are dispersed throughout the resort. We anticipate going to Disney again in 2008 with my daughter (age 6) and son (age 2) and will more than likely book with Pop Century. I didn't give it a 10 out 10 due to the room walls being rather thin, and you can hear your neighbors plumbing. Overall, a tremendous value for what shouldn't be an expensive vacation.

This hotel was awesome. An awesome deal for the money! The check-in was the worst part, but the Disney staff made it worth while.

Yeah, the Hippy Dippy Pool was the best, but the 90's pool was great to go for some privacy.

The cafeteria and the gift shop were the best. The food was excellent, and decently priced. And never so crowded, it was a great dining experience!
