Disney's All Star Sports Resort

the room was awful bedding was tired and shabby and had to ask for it to be changed. food was unhealthy and the catering staff could not understand english. the reception staff were pointless and did not seem to know what was going on.do not stay here.

WE CHECKED IN DURING THE MORNING RUSH NO PROBLEMS

WE ARE A FAMILY OF 4 WITH 2 CHILDREN AGES 7 AND 10. WE STAYED AT THE ALL STAR SPORTS IN THE BASEBALL THEME. MY BOYS WERE SO HAPPY WITH THE WAY EVERYTHING WAS SO LARGE. THE LARGE COKE CUP , LARGE FOOTBALL ETC. FROM THE TIME WE ARRIVED TILL THE TIME WE LEFT WE HAD NOT ONE PROBLEM. WHEN WE WALKED INTO OUR ROOM WE WERE NOT EXPECTING MUCH AS IT IS A LESSER VALUE HOTEL. THE ROOM SMELLED WONDERFUL AND WAS VERY CLEAN. BEDS NOT TOO BAD. PILLOWS COMFORTABLE AND ENOUGH BLANKETS, TOWELS, SOAP AND SHAMPOO ALWAYS REPLENISHED. IF YOU LEAVE THE KIDS STUFFED ANIMALS ON THE BED THE ROOM SERVICE CLEANERS ALWAYS DO SOMETHING WITH THEM FOR THE KIDS. THE BOYS COULDN'T WAIT TO SEE WHAT WAS DONE EACH DAY AFTER GOING TO THE PARKS. THE FOOD AT THE HOTEL WAS GREAT BUT NOT ALOT OF CHOICE AFTER THE FIRST FEW DAYS, BUT WE HAD ALREADY BOOKED DINNERS SO IT WAS MOSTLY BREAKFAST OR LAST MINUTE SNACKS. GREAT PORTIONG SIZES. WE HAD THE DELUXE MEAL PLAN. I WOULD GO WITH IT AGAIN SINCE WE WERE ABLE TO HAVE EXTRA SNACKS THAT CAME IN HANDY AT THE PARKS FOR ICE CREAM OR DRINKS. PRICES AT THE PARK FOR DRINKS IS VERY REASONABLE. FOR A BOTTLE OF WATER IT WAS $1.25 HERE IN CANADA WE WOULD PAY AT LEAST $3.00 AT AM AN AMUZEMENT PARK. I WOULD SUGGEST WATER SHOES FOR SMALL KIDS WHO LIKE TO PLAY AROUND IN THE POOL BECAUSE WE FOUND THAT THE BOTTOM OF THE POOL WAS A BIT ROUGH. BOTH BOYS NICKED AT LEAST 3 TOES WHILE WE WERE THERE AS DID A FEW OTHER KIDS. ONCE THEY HAD THE SHOES NOT A PROBLEM AT ALL. NO PROBLEMS FOR THE ADULTS IN THE POOL SO I THINK IT HAS TO DO WITH JUMPING AND TURNING. I WOULD DEFINATLY GO BACK AND STAY AT THIS HOTEL.

Disney is a family company. However, they do not advertise ALL of the amenities provided to families. Recently, I had to travel without my breastfed 3 month old daughter. Mortified at the thought of either pumping/dumping or being painfully engorged for 4 days, I grit my teeth and "sucked it up."

Upon arrival, I happened to ask if there was a way to get a larger freezer in our room. The staff asked why I needed the extra room and after I explained, they offered their freezer by the luggage check. It was quite the trip each time I needed to make a "deposit," however it was important to me. They checked it with a ticket that I had to show each time to access the bag in storage. They also had a large orange ticket on it that read, "Must be kept continually frozen." The GENTLEMEN that stored it each day were very friendly and seemed to understand the importance of the situation.

(As a side note, it was not at all a problem to fly home with over 40oz in a backpack cooler full of ice as a carry-on. TSA rules have changed and this is considered under the medically approved items.)

Why on earth, Disney doesn't advertise this is completely beyond me!

Although the hotel was cheep, the price was excellent especially for being on the Disney property. The convinence of it all is worth more than the price. Though the smaller rooms and not as lavish decor wasn't as great as others, still the fact of being on the property for that price is an acceptable compramise. The pool side bar is great for parents having a drink and still watching their kids from a safe distance. That is a big pro.
