This place is clearly older. The hallways of the Sierra Tower (Dreams) are narrow. This is the oldest of the three towers but has the best view of Downtown Disney and Disneyland. The vending machines were empty, there was not a lot of ambiance. The decor was not impressive, and the only reason to stay there is the convenience to the whole park. Its at the end of The Downtown Disney area. We paid over $300 a night for one adult and a child. We had a great view. A plus is early entry into the park, and the historical celebrity photos in the lobby. I'm glad I can say I stayed there at least once. The Grand Californian is more $$$ but much newer and spacious.

Good
Great location, convenient restaurants and facilities, family friendly. Aside from my current billing dispute, the hotel was just as nice as my prior visits.

Okay
Overall the hotel was good. However, when I was looking for a hotel at Laguna Beach I checked the Ocean Front box and this hotel came up. The hotel is NOT ocean front. It is across a busy street and behind hotels away from the beach. It only has an...

Excellent
The Disneyland Hotel is the only place to stay when you go to Disneyland. You truly feel like you never left the park. There are gift shops comparable to those inside Disneyland. You get in the park an hour early and enter on the Monorail. It is...

Good
If your child is old to get up early and stay up late, this is the hotel for you. Early admission, coupled with Monorail service near the hotel means that you and your older child can take advantage of less busy times, relaxing at the pool midday....

Not worth it, promises are not kept in this hotel, we were promised $200 and never got it, pools closed too early and shot down twice in middle the day at 90 temp outside, no breakfast, rooms are poor decorated, gift shop downstairs has poor service, food too expensive at goofy kitchen, self parking is far, we paid over $1500. 3 days not worth it at all.
Go to the local hotels on main street for better value.
We chose the Disneyland Hotel because

Excellent
We chose the Disneyland Hotel because we were traveling with 3 kids (ages 15, 13 & 5), and wanted to be close enough so the teenagers could go from the park to the hotel without us. It worked out beautifully--the hotel is 5 minutes away walking...
