Personally, I feel feel the newer Grand Californian and Paradise Pier Hotels provide more splash for the cash. As a travel consultant for cre8adventures.com, I've visited the DLH several times.

Be sure to have patience when checking-in, the main

Good

On first impressions I would rate the quaility of room 2.5 star hotel. It was no better than a room at a Marriott Courtyard. The Disney decor brought the room up to 3 stars. Check-in was great. We drove all-night from Northern Nevada. The...

Stayed at the Disneyland Hotel for 8 nights. Clean basic room. Big vanity area was nice. Kids loved the pool. Hard to get a chair or lounge in the middle of the day. Food was good at Crocs Bits and Bites. Pleasant stay, no issues. If you plan ...

A group of us always come to the Disneyland Hotel for competitions. While there, we always stop at Crocs Bits n Bites for a quick lunch. They have great burgers, chicken sandwiches, and wonderful kid's meals. Prices are pretty good for the Disney...

Disneyland Hotel - Still Magical – Posted Aug 15, 2008

Excellent
56 year old female with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure

My last visit to the Disneyland Hotel was in 1996 and at that time, it was a beautiful property. I wondered if anything had changed in 12 years. We arrived early, around 1 pm, and the front desk cast member, greeted me with "Hi, how are you?" I said "please tell me that you have a room ready for me." Megan said that the room assigned to us was not ready, but she checked with the room assignment desk and they were able to get me into a room, King bed in the Dreams tower, as I requested. The room was beautiful, I loved the Disney bedspread, very subtle Disney, not bold Mickey Mouse. The room had a free refrigerator, free internet access, free coffee in the lobby. Our view was of the Neverland Pool, but we didn't spend much time in the room so view was not important. This was my husband's first time in Disneyland, California and so he was impressed. There were some negatives, although some not the fault of the hotel. The monorail, which was the main reason I chose the Disneyland Hotel, didn't run one of the days of our stay; the first night the monorail service was erratic at best. Of course, the monorail is no longer touted as a resort transportation benefit, it's a Tomorrowland attraction. Because of medical reasons, I do have problems walking too far, and we did have to walk to the California Adventure Park, but it wasn't too bad and there were places that you could sit in Downtown Disney District if needed. I do wish that all Disneyland resort hotels would provide tram service to the theme parks, but because of Downtown Disney, I don't know how feasible that would be. Back to the Disneyland Hotel, housekeeping was always timely, the room was always cleaned up by the time we got back to the hotel, whether it was early or late afternoon. The room amenities were of better quality than many, cast members are friendly and you do feel welcomed there. My only complaints: They close everything, food, sundries, gift shop at 10pm, so when the park closes at midnight and you get back to your room, you'd better have already purchased any food or beverages beforehand. You can't even get room service after 10pm. Maybe I'm spoiled living in Las Vegas where the hotels have services 24/7. The other problem we had was with the room itself. Because of how the airconditioner is situated, the condensation caused the carpet on one side of the bed to be soaked. I called housekeeping the first morning, and nothing was done. I called guest services the second morning because at this point, we had to put our bath towels down on the floor, or step into sopping carpet when you get off the bed. Again, nothing was done. Finally, I called the front desk the third morning and they offered to change my room, which did not make sense considering we were leaving the next day. I just asked that they send someone to please wet vac it and check the A/C unit. They did send maintenance to check the unit, but no wet vac until I called again. Before we went back to Disneyland for our final night, I stopped at the front desk to speak to someone in person. The front desk cast member apologized and said that they will make it right. They did give me a credit to my bill for $75, and I do appreciate Disney's commitment. to exceed guest expectations. Would I stay here again - most definitely, we're going back in December.

Our table and silverware was dirty, the person who was calling diners to tables was unnecessarily rude to us on several occasions and the manager seemed to care less. Bravo to the kitchen staff though; friendly folk and their American cuisine on the ...

This was worth every bit of the money it cost. We were in the tower that overlooks the park, on the 9th floor. We had the most amazing view! We slept with the huge balcony doors open all night. We stayed at the Hollywood Roosevelt hotel for 3...
