Built in a theme of Amercia's Northwest national parks and Native Indian culture, the villas are a comfortable place to stay in Orlando. Each villa has a kitchen, living area and all the essentials you need for your stay. There is a nice 'outdoor' feel to this resort, even with the restaurants which serve a big selection of food from barbequed meats to snacks, salads and sandwiches. There are swimming pools and 2 spas and a beach to relax on. The fitness center is well equipped and you can also have beauty treatments and saunas. There is also a good games room, supervised childrens' programmes and a playground. The staff here are friendly and helpful and great with children. You can get from the airport via the Magical Express, which you need to book in advance. The resort also offers a shuttle service to the main attractions and there's a lovely boat ride to the magic kingdom too.

Stayed 6 nights in October 2007 at 10% below normal rates. The theming and atmosphere of this hotel relaxes you after returning from a busy day at the Theme Parks. Boat and bus transportation were fairly reliable but expect to wait 10-20 minutes to load during peak hours. We had an accessible room due to daughter in wheelchair and they gave us an adjoining room at no charge since the only accessible rooms available only had a king bed. So we had twice the space for a family of four (please do not abuse this if you do not NEED the accessible room). The hotel grounds were very well kept and being on the lake was something I personally enjoyed. The lobby is gigantic and leaves you feeling you are in the great outdoors. Mostly BBQ at the Whispering Canyon restaurant (very noisy) and the Artists Point is delicious but expensive. Reservations made weeks in advance are a must. Room service food was good and served on time. Counter service meals were typical of any other Disney hotel. Walking trail difficult for wheelchairs or scooters. Hotel staff was very friendly. However, they need to be better at responding to maintenance issues as we told them the first day we were there that the handicap automated doors at both ends of our hotel wing were not working and they remained broken a week later when we left. It made it difficult getting a wheelchair in/out. Still, we enjoyed our stay here.

The ambiance of the hotel is top notch. My family frequently travels to the Disney property and the Wilderness Lodge hotel is our favorite. The service and the personal attention to guests is always exceptional.
The guests are allowed to have flexibility on vacation. The restaurants are exceptional and I have never felt rushed out. The guests are expected to relax at the pool and activities are everywhere you look, like swimming, sun tanning, boating, bicycling.
