From its colorful Victorian architecture to the historic influence of horse racing, this idyllic lakeside community recaptures the heyday of upstate New York country retreats of the late 1800s. Rolling hills, fragrant gardens, gracious promenades and gurgling springs combine to relax, reconnect and rejuvenate the spirit. And, when the mood for a little excitement hits, the magical metropolis of the DOWNTOWN DISNEY? Area is right across the lake. Resort features 840 Villa Resort rooms, pool with slide and zero depth entry, two quiet pools, spas, kiddie pool, arcade, playground, bicycle rentals, tennis, basketball and shuffleboard courts. There is also a full service spa and health club. Rooms are available for guests with disabilities. * Guests will no longer be able to request a smoking room for arrivals after May 1, 2007, as we transition into our smoke-free policy *

Set in beautifully landscaped gardens, this is a peaceful Disney resort. It is very spread out, so if you don't like walking, it may be best to ask for a room near the main building. Many people here do rent a car, and the parking pass also gives you free parking to the Disney parks, but the shuttle buses run every 20 minutes and Downtown Disney is a 10 minute walk away, so you can get groceries etc. from there- you will need to as there isn't a proper restaurant on-site. The villas are well equipped with a fridge and microwave in most, although the cleaning staff do not come every day. The staff are friendly although not always efficient. There's transport from the airport on the Magical Express.

We've been hear a few times and I love it more each time we go back. I love the rooms, we've stayed in the 1 bedroom suite and the studio. We have two small children (8 and 5) and the 1 bedroom worked a lot better.
Pros: Beautiful resort, room was marvelous. A boat ride away from Downtown Disney. Turf club was fabulous. The atmosphere was very relaxing, the pool was beautiful.
Cons: No room service. Cannot rent movies from the room. You...

We reserved the one bedroom suite (One bedroom w/ king bed, pull-out couch in living area). It was spotless! The cleaning attendant cleaned everything from our coffee pot to the balcony-- even starting our dishwasher for us. The king bed was soooo comfortable. One of our kids lost her room key/ticket at Downtown Disney-- someone there called Saratoga Springs and they had a new one waiting for us at our return. Schedule a day to spend at the pool. We only had two hours and had to drag the girls out. I have nothing at all negative to say about it-- we stayed at the end of July '08.

We loved this hotel so much that we joined the Disney Vacation Club with this as our home property. Great rooms...huge....we even got a free upgrade. Very quite.....a nice relaxing get away from busy Disney parks.
This place is beautiful..the Spa...oh my gosh...HEAVEN! If you stay here and don't use the spa..you will be missing out! An experience with my mom that I will have forever....It is not a resort that is much about the kids as the others we have...
This is a beautiful Disney resort located very close to Downtown Disney. The view across the lake at night is spectacular. The only issue we found is that it's so large that you can be located very far from the main resort amenities; front...

My family and I just got back from our vacation in FL (Feb15-18 '08). We stayed at a 2-bdr villa in Saratoga Springs resort. The amenities are great and we were truly having a magical experience up until we had a nightmare incident. My 2 sons (ages 6 and 8) were swimming in the High Rock Springs pool when my younger son after going through the slide panicked and was gasping for air. Good thing my older son was right behind him and tried to get him. He cried for help and I immediately went to their rescue. All this was happening right in FRONT of the lifeguard ON DUTY. He was talking to someone before, during and after the entire incident!!! My husband had to tell him that our sons were already drowning and he didn't even know it! We spoke to the Recreation Manager and he even defended the guy! That maybe he was talking to one of the guest. Unbelievable! So don't trust the lifeguards on duty if you want to keep your children safe in their pool. My older son was traumatized by this incident and we keep telling him that he did a brave thing by saving his younger brother.
We liked Saratoga Springs just fine. We had a 2 bedroom Villa in "The Springs" area of the resort. Wonderful location, short walk to big pool (which had a great slide!) and food court area.

Even though I have a chose to go to many different resorts, I choose to return to SS. The quality is A+ all the way around. It's Disney, and the service is exactly what you would expect. I am a single mother, so feeling safe is very important...
