I wanted to write and say how dissapointed I was with the Paradise Pier Hotel. We stayed for 5 nights at the hotel. It was only on the 4th night that we discovered a cockroach in our room. Next to the safe and I took pictures to prove it. I called the front desk and I didn't get a apology or anything. All they did was move us to another room. I work in the restaurant industry and know for a fact that there is never just 1 cockroach. Moving us to another room did very little as that last night with you we didn't sleep very well and it took us about 4 hours to go through our luggage and make sure we weren't taking any uniinvited guests home with us to our brand new home.
I really expected more from disney. We had a wonderful trip however this little mishap made us so uncomfortable and we will never stay at this facility again and we are frequent disney goers.
When we checked out the next morning nobody addressed the situation which makes me wonder how much the hotel really cares about clientele.
Cockroaches are not acceptable. We would have appreciated being recognized and compensated. I have pictures of the safe and where the bug was. Disgusting.

As a travel consultant for cre8adventures.com, I've visited this property a few times. Situated furthest from the Disneyland Parks, this is the smallest and least expensive of the three Disney-run hotels. The parks and Downtown Disney are still very much within easy walking distance.
The PCH Grill around the corner serves California specialties from its open kitchen in a festive confetti-flocked setting. Kids can make their own pizzas, and Disney characters join guests for breakfast without creating a mob scene like that at the Disneyland Hotel next door. This actually enables kids to get a lot more one-on-one time with Stich & Lilo.
The Yamabuki restaurant continues to offer both Western and Japanese seating to go with the sushi and other Japanese specialties. A room upstairs provides a full tea service in the afternoon, and the lobby lounge dispenses coffee and cocktails.
The pool facility pales in comparison to the other two Disney hotels. The third-floor plunge is just a rectangle in a concrete deck that also houses a whirlpool and cabana bar. Also on the premises are a health club and video-game arcade and wedding garden. The resort fee includes parking for two vehicles, complimentary Internet access, free local calls and use of the gym.
Glass elevators whisk guests up to the well-designed, standardized rooms that hold higher standards than those at the Marriott, with blond-wood furniture, foliage prints, desks or breakfast tables, comfortable chairs, TVs in cabinets, small refrigerators, coffeemakers and basic combination baths.
Some rooms with king beds come with sofa beds as well—popular choices with families needing extra daytime living space. Disney character lamps light up the averaged-size units.
Premium rooms offer access to a lounge offering the usual perks: breakfast, snacks, newspapers and video rentals. And personally, we've not found these to be worth the substantial cost increase. Views are of surrounding parking lots or the fences ringing California Adventure. Some third-floor rooms entice with their views of the pool from private patios.
Well located among the area's key attractions, this hotel suits families seeking a convenient base near the surrounding amusement parks. Those willing to give up the Disneyland Hotel's lagoon-style pool will find this is the more relaxed option. Families who want an amusement-park atmosphere in their hotel should opt for the slightly higher priced Disneyland Hotel.

Mediocre
It is wonderful to stay in the Disneyland resort and be close to the parks and downtown Disney, but this hotel is so overpriced. It didn't help that our final bill showed an added $13.80 per day--when we called to find out what this daily charge...
We just spent 5 nights here. 2 of the 5 mornings there was no hot water for a shower. When you need a bit of unwind time from all the running around sitting down and watching some TV is nice, to bad the choices of channels on the TV reminded me of...

This place is an Econolodge with a slight Disney tinge. Everything is below par, from the elevators to the toiletries. Ask yourself why you would pay 300-400 per night when they give you crap (Econolodge-level) shampoo...
We had never stayed in a Disney Resort. The hotel was way above your average hotel. Very clean. Rooms were promptly cleaned before we got back in the afternoon. I was a litttle worried when I saw reviews of the walking distance. I don't...
