Located near to many of the main attractions but set in lovely grounds of trees, waterways and golf courses. The resort is decorated with a Victorian theme and there's a large choice of studios and villas of varying sizes. The studios are comfortable and have all the essentials and the villas have full kitchens, a living area, laundry facility and a lot of extra comforts. The large villas are especially good for larger familys. There are 2 main places to eat, Olivia's Cafe and Good's Food to Go, both of which offer a wide variety of food for eating in or taking away. There are 4 main pools, a kiddie pool, arcades, playgrounds, spas, tennis courts, jogging trails and a well equipped fitness center with a sauna and massage and beauty treatments available. There are plenty of water rentals and the golf course is a good standard too. The Hospitality Center is useful with a grocery shop and an area where you can play board games. The staff here are efficient and friendly and there is free transport to take you around the resort and to the main attractions. The wait time for buses is a lot less than some other resorts and there is also transport from the airport, if you book in advance.

Okay
These are the biggest standard rooms out of all the Disney hotels. Make sure you book a prefered room or else it'll be a hike to the bus stop, food court, and pools. Believe me it doesnt sound like a big deal but it WILL rain during your stay, and...
I loved the spaciousness of the suite. Families with children should definitely consider staying here. It was like a little 'condo', there was so much room. The kitchenette with fridge/microwave is a must for feeding the kiddies. The main 'TV' r

Okay
We are DVC members and we use Disney facilities at least 2x's a year. We have stayed at Port Orleans Riverside and at the Hilton Head location twice. Both visits to Hilton Head were nice, although the first trip/stay was better than the second. ...

Old Key West is my home away from home, upon check in you are welcome'd home, we usually get a studio, which is 2 double beds, a small kitchenette, microwave, refridge, toaster. A large bathroom, and a smaller deck outside, which overlooks the golf course. Always spotless clean, it is like your own neighborhood, there is a running track in the back which goes along the river, Olivia's for breakfast, and characters on Wednesday, the bus to go to any Disney theme park, and downtown disney, they have a waterslide at the main pool, and several other pools closer to your room if you are out in the back, there is also another snack bar at turtle crawl. I love to go and hate to leave!

We stayed in a studio suite with 2 people and it was plenty big, and was very comfortable. The concierge was so helpful and anwered all our questions. The Olivia's restaurant was a bit overpriced, but really good food (everythign at Disney is...

We were actually given 1 night here as a gift from a DVC member at work. The amenities were great, as we spent the whole day playing shuffleboard and rented bikes to ride around the property (and to Saratoga Springs). Property is very spread out, but Disney buses will take you to the main entrance. It was a nice 1 night get-away.

I was expecting to pay a premium this first time that we're staying in a Disney property and we certainly paid a premium. But given the choices of resorts, I would not hesitate to stay at OKW again.
No extras, but the people were extremely accommodating and friendly.
When we first arrived we were told that no units were available in any of the 4 buildings I'd requested and that no units at all were available for early check-in (in fact, nothing available until 4pm). After some cajoling and ten minutes or so of waiting, we were given precisely the unit we wanted in precisely the building we wanted - and it was available immediately (11am).
I suppose one could be cynical about that - we were just pleased. The ability to check in, shower and change before heading to the theme parks was terrific.
I checked out a couple of the more "theme-y" resorts, none had the same relaxed atmosphere we found here - a perfect counterpoint to the frenetic activity of the parks. The kids loved spending a couple of hours each day in the middle of the day at the pool.
I suspect there are other laid back resorts, I just didn't visit them. But what cinched the deal was the size and convenience of our 2-bedroom suite. Fantastic!
Negatives? Just one - it was little musty, but you got used to it almost immediately. It was clean and comfortable and offered every amenity we needed.
