This hotel is set in really beautiful grounds, and decorated in Spanish / Mexican style, with fountains, flowers and a lakeside setting. The rooms are bright and spacious and some have great views over the lake. There are 2 main restaurants, Maya Grill and the Pepper Market which is open air, but its best to reserve a table. There are 3 heated pools and a 'Dig Site' feature pool for the kids. The Health Club is lovely and you can book yourself in for massages and other beauty treatments. You can hire out kayaks, canopy boats and kids boats on the lake, and there is also a jogging trail which runs round the grounds. Volleyball, bike rentals, arcades and a playground are also on offer. The staff are friendly and helpful, but there can be a large queue for check in at busy times. As the grounds are fairly expansive, there are golf carts to help you around the park and a shuttle bus to take you to the main attractions. Transport from the airport is via the Magical Express.

I am back from an early May stay at Coronado Springs, and even at Disney they are suffering service cutbacks that really show. Their Web-site says you can check in at 3 p.m. but when you get there they say it's 3-5 p.m. and it was much closer to 5

A little too " Disney" for my liking, but I guess you get that at a Disney resort, eh?? Rooms were comfortable, not really any frills to speak of. Resort itself had a nice atmosphere. If you have kids, and want something a little more grown up, i would reccommend this Resort.

Okay
The M2TZ family traveled to Orlando for our summer vacation this year. I'd promised the children when we were selling our home that if they'd do their part to keep it clean for showings, we would take them to Disney World with part of the proceeds...

We arrived on July 6, 2008 around 1:30 p.m. and about 20 minutes later our luggage arrived. We stayed in the "Cabanas", we had access to the bus stop with umteen buses passing everying 5 minutes to different parks. We came back to the hotel around 2:00 a.m. (staying in the resort is a major plus) because some of the parks would stay opened late for resort guests. We walked a few steps from the bus stop to our rooms. The pool was awesome! We were so excited about being there, we jumped into our swim suits and went swimming in the hotel pool late that night. Every day when we'd get back to our rooms, the rooms would be made up by the housekeeping folks and they would do an incredible job. The entire resort is beautiful and we really enjoyed it. My husband and I took our 15 year old son because that is where he wanted to go when we asked him what he wanted to do for summer vacation 2008. I'm so glad he picked Walt Disney World. My sister also joined us and she took her two daughters 14 and 11, they stayed in the room next to us. We had an amazing time in our vacation 2008. We always hear horror stories of hotel stays, restaurants, etc.. But, not this vacation, we had a blast! The employees at Walt Disney World are known as "Cast Members", and I must say, they were all and I mean all from the hotel, restaurants and parks we went to, were so courteous and so kind to us. We left the evening of July 12, 2008 and this is the first time from all other vacations where I felt as though I wanted to stay longer. Usually, by the 5th day on any vacation, we start to feel a little home sick. Well, not this time, we all felt the same way, we all felt we could have stayed an extra week. Especially at the Coronado Springs Resort!

Excellent
On our recent trip to Disney World in Orlando, Florida, we had to make a choice about where to stay. My husband and I bantered back and forth over whether to stay on Disney property or not. In the end, we decided that the advantages of staying on...

I absolutely loved the grounds, the views (especially during the evenings) and the architecture. The Casitas (buildings 1, 2, and 3) offer the best views of architecture and fountains.
Rooms are "okay", no glorious cable channels or microwaves (not that you'll need that), resort staff service was very good. Food is VERY pricey; if you're traveling on a budget and every dollar counts, then you CANNOT afford to stay here even though they offer a meal plan option. Seriously, don't even try it if money is an issue, you'll end up in a bad mood because all of your money will be gone after two days of eating. But if money is no object, then you'll love it.
Only thing I hated is that its a Convention/Conference Resort. That means throngs of loud people wandering around with name tags, hogging up the outdoor bar and every available bench and outdoor table. Definitely plan around Conventions/Conferences at this resort.
If you're using the Disney Express, follow the directions they give you. Keep your Disney Express travel voucher booklet with you for check-in and check-out. On your check-out day, go check your bags and get your boarding pass at the resort airline counter at least 4 hours before your Disney Express Bus departing time, then go back to your room and relax...or go eat. Trust me, 95% of the resort guests will show up 1 hour before their Disney Express Bus departs, and then complain (while holding up the line) that they can't get good service...especially the convention/conference people. If all you have are carry-ons (no checked airline luggage), it's even better because you can get your airline boarding pass delivered to your room, hanging on your doorknob, a couple of hours before your bus heads to the airport.

Stayed here for a week, and the hotel was generally good. True, as others have pointed out, the TV is weak (though we did NOT come to watch TV), and the room is less than stellar (but perfectly acceptable and clean, and overall good-it could have used a microwave and safe, which it lacked). True, the service is modest, and in the food court (with the 10 percent mandatory tip) service is very weak. In fact, we asked for a box and one would think we asked them to sacrifice their first born--pure sneers. And VERY high priced and VERY low quality food. Internet access VERY expensive. Despite all this, the pools were enticing and everything very clean. And there are advantages at staying at one of the Disney resorts (free transport to airport and parks, extra park hours etc.) My recommendation is if you decide to stay here-fine, but don't expect super luxury and top-notch service. If your budget doesn't allow it, don't worry about it and you will do fine elsewhere. If the perks don't matter (and frankly, I was here for a conference and had someone else not been paying the bill, I would have looked elsewhere) then a more economical option would likely be perfectly acceptable.

The food in the cafeteria was very expensive and tasted horrible. Staff was rude and not helpful. I was also in the Convention Center for meetings all day and the food for that was horrible too. The Magical Express for the airport dropped people off and did not load anyone else. It was about 45 min late for our pick up. The rooms are old and smelly. Not worth the price, and not a "magical" place at all.

I must start off by saying the resort grounds were beautiful and nicely kept, you couldn't help but look at them on your 20 minute walk to anywhere you had to get to. After a tiring day at the parks and all you wanted to do was relax with some tv, you had to watch Disney ads or Disney channels, few normal channels available and no movie channels, not great since we didn't have any kids with us on this trip. Dinner tended to be quite expensive considering you have to go up and get it yourself and it was sometimes cold. It is also connected to a Convention Center and while we were there there were two conventions going on, so the only outside bar was mobbed and we couldn't even get close to it. They do have a great giftshop with many of the same items you would see in the park so you could do most of your souvenir shopping right there. Buses to the parks were pretty good as well. For our personal tastes, as we like to spend most of our day in the parks, we realize a less expensive resort would have been better for us. If you like to hang out at a pool, rent boats, bike rides or relax in a hammock, this may be your thing, but if you just need somewhere to sleep and shower since you are at the parks all day, a value resort would be a better fit.
