Wonderful Experience – Posted Sep 29, 2008

Excellent
with a budget, traveling for leisure

Caribbean beach was BEAUTIFUL!! Clean room, excellent service. Could use a couple more soft drink machines, but overall great time for our 9 and 10 year olds. Would DEFINATLY stay here again. Overall, 9 day vacation excellent. Reservations needed for table service on dining plan not revealed at time of purchase. This info would have been helpful to save a few bucks. Pickup time at parks closing a little long. A few more buses would be nice, but we will return again. Was at Disney 6 yrs. ago. Stayed off site. Never again!! Only onsite. Would STRONGLY recommend Caribbean Beach. Thank you for helping give our kids a wonderful time.

Nice Hotel – Posted Aug 28, 2008

Good
with a budget, traveling for leisure

Our family spent 6 nights at the Caribbean Resort. We arrived right in the middle of Tropical Storm Fay in August of 2008. Part of this might be a little biased due to the fact that the weather was so terrible.

We arrived at check-in at 10:00 PM, and were harshly welcomed by a very "matter-of-fact" employee. None of the employees at the front desk seemed to want to be there. We spoke with two employees at the desk. Also, some of them couldn't speak or understand English. Their attitude was indifferent, and it seemed they needed assistance from a senior staff member for each breath they took.

Aside from this, the grounds were perfectly lovely. They were maintained perfectly, and groomed like a golf course. The pool (in Aruba) was fantastic.

There were minimal people using the pool at any given time. When it was in use, the people and kids were respectful, and polite.

The room (in Aruba) was very nice, and we wish we could have stayed longer. The food at the hotel was mediocre, and was the exact type of food as at each Disney Park. We could deal with the endless cheeseburgers, fries and chicken nuggets, but longed for more flavor on the quick service plan.

The hotel is HUGE! It's a toss up weather to stay in a room with a pool view, or near a bus stop. One thing is for sure... Get a room near Port Royale (the food court). Aruba and Jamaica are across a beautiful bridge from the food court, and great places to stay.

The bus system is very helpful, but frustrating... You can spend as much as an hour of your day waiting for, and transferring buses to get to one single destination. There is something to be said for the upper level hotels with the Monorail system. This hotel is great, but would be outstanding if it had the Monorail.

Our last day we were trying to get our bags to the check out desk via the bus system. One very helpful Bell Man stopped in his van, and gave us a personal ride. Little things like that make the trip better, because it was 94 degrees, and we were tired.

Note: We stayed two additional nights at a value level Disney resort, and it was no comparison!!! It was at the All-Star complex Sports hotel. Although the food at the All Star tasted better, the room was very disappointing. All Star is a very rinky-dink resort, with no amenities except a pool. The pool is huge, and you have everyone and their brother in there... Some of the people are not the type of people you'd like to spend time with at a resort. So, go for a moderate resort at least, but go for less time. 4 to 5 days at Disney is plenty.

Also check out Animal Kingdom Lodge - Amazing Resort!!!!!

Yes, we recommend the Caribbean Resort.

We had a great time! – Posted Aug 21, 2008

Excellent
38 year old female with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

We were a little apprehensive after reading some awful reviews on this site but my husband, daughter and myself had a fantastic time in the CBR. We stayed in Jamaica and our room was near to the beach and pool, not to mention the bridge to Old Port Royale. We had been disappointed that the main pool was under refurbishment but actually the Jamaica pool was nice and we were always able to get sunbeds etc. as well as freshly laundered pool towels. We were celebrating my husband's 40th and my daughter's 10 birthdays and the staff went out of their way to make it a special event. They were very attentive and always checked if we were having a good time. The transport to the parks was good and we usually only waited 10 - 15 mins max to get a bus. The only disaster we had was when the bellhop didin't pick us up on our last day meaning we missed our transfer bus to the airport. However, the manager stepped in and said 'don't worry, we'll take care of you' and organised a taxi for us which the hotel paid for. Even to the last minute of our visit we felt looked after!

Mildewed Room – Posted Aug 18, 2008

Horrible
27 year old female with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

Upon opening the door to our room, we could smell mildew. It was very humid and stuffy in the room and the carpet felt wet all over. It seemed like the room hadn't been used in a long time. The refrigerator was not plugged in and did not start to cool off until we were about to check out the next day. There were flies in the bathroom area buzzing around non-stop. There were hardly any soaps and bathroom extras to use. I called for a late check out for the following day but house keeping was still banging on our door the following morning saying they had no record of our request.

Water stopped while I was in shower – Posted Aug 13, 2008

Horrible
38 year old female with a moderate budget

We checked in CBR for 1 night since I could not extend my stay at the Port Orleans Riverside. We checked in at 3 on August 7, I noticed the room floors were sticky an UNCLEAN but I used their towels as rugs to mitigate this issue. We left for the Theme Parks and did not come back until 1AM, I then requested for late check out and the front desk said we can speak to housekeeping and usually they can allow 1PM as the latest time. Houskeeping keeps knocking at your doors by 8am in Disney resort hotels (I noticed this in Port Orleans too) wanting to do your rooms - Which doesnt make sense since we wanted to sleep in and they keep disturbing us. When me and my kids got up at around 930 we got ready and decided to pack up my husband and 1 child showered first and by 1115 it was my turn to shower, I was shampooing my hair when the water had stopped running normally. It felt like there was not enough pressure for the shower to run, the water was drizzling and it was BROWN (dirty)... EEeeeeew! I got out of bathroom and contacted front desk. They said there was a problem in the ENTIRE Building we were at - We were at the Barbados Building #14 room 23, He was not at all friendly - I EVEN ASKED IF there was another place I can shower - I WANT OUT of that place - He said "NO" what a creep no alternative to an issue like this - how sad , I asked to speak to the MANAGER he said he will email the manager to call me - I waited and waited until 1215 no phone call, no water and shampoo on my head still. I called the fornt desk again and this time a girl answered she was better at calming me down but not good enough - I told her I need this fixed or provide me with a better alternative - If I was still in the room by 1PM they will charge me for an extra day - NOT ACCEPTABLE I want out of that dump NOW!!! She says that the Manager was on his way to meet me at the room - He never showed up and I was sick and tired of waiting so I left very UPSET and frustrated - I DO NOT recommend this place at all - You are better off staying at the Port Orleans it costs the same....

Excellent
48 year old female with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

First, I too was a little apprehensive after I had booked the hotel then read reviews. Let me say this. Every one of us has different things that are important to us.

I consider myself very easy going and went with a very open mind. This resort was an ABSOLUTE JOY . I went with my two daughters, 23 and 19. They absolutely loved it and didn't want to leave the resort or Disney for that matter.

We were in the Jamaica section, with a nice little walk across the bridge to the food court. The food court is standard fare, but we are easy to please anyway. The food cost exactly what I had figured. Each meal for all three of us ran about $20-$25. Ballpark. One thing I would like to point out so you know ahead of time. JUST BE PATIENT WITH THE FOOD COURT WORKERS, especially in the morning where it seems to be busiest. If you keep this in mind you won't get frustrated, just relax and enjoy.

Everything was extremely easy here at the resort and Disney. Disney made this trip an absolute joy.

The hotel room was clean, cool and bright. The staff, extremely courteous and helpful. My daughters asked for towel animals, (yes they are 23 and 19) from the room attendant and got them.

Everyone in the gift shops were very courteous and pleasant.

We went with a very easy going attitude and were not at all disappointed in this resort. Very pretty grounds, clean and very tropical. Caribbean music played all through the bushes on your walk to the foodcourt. We actually felt like we were a world away. I really recommend this resort to everyone.

Also, the buses were great and also made our traveling easy. Yeah you wait a little while especially in the morning when everyone is going out but they put on more buses in the morning so the wait isn't very long. One suggestion though you might want to keep in mind. The buses are kept very very cold and even though it is a pleasure to get on them after a hot day at Disney you might want to keep a little hoodie or sweater in your bag.

Just go on vacation, keep an open mind, don't be so picky and just enjoy. You won't be disappointed with this resort, really! I would go back without hesitation.

We Had a Great Time. – Posted Jul 23, 2008

Excellent
45 year old female with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

From the moment we arrived we knew we were going to have a great time. It's Disney World! The grounds are beautifully manicured and invite you right in. The guard at the front gate was very professional and friendly. The Custom House staff were very friendly and explained everything about the resort, the Disney passes and answered all of our questions. It was a very pleasant experience. Yes, the resort is big, but that has advantages in that it is very quiet and peaceful. Unless you are severly out of shape the size of the resort is not an issue. It is a great way to walk off all the treats from Disney World. The pool at our building was used by many individuals, adults and children. There were no problems with noise. The food court did have a limited selection of food that we liked, but the burgers, fries, pizza and muffins were good. The food was priced exactly where I thought it would be for a resort. I wasn't suprised by the prices. The one thing that I loved about the resort was the ability to use my room key to gain access to the Disney World Theme Parks and Water Parks and to charge all of my purchases at the resort food court and gift shop and all my purchases at Walt Disney World Theme Parks and Water Parks to my card. This is very convenient for keeping track of expenditures. I loved it. We would recommend this resort and we will return to Caribean Beach Resort in the future.

I am very likely to return to the Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

I have stayed at the Caribbean Beach Resort 4 times.

The internal bus stop is within a 1-2 minute walk from your hotel door(A BIG PLUS)! Each "island" has it's own bus stop.

The quietest (and farthest) "island" from...

Excellent
24 year old female with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure

Me and my husban stayed at the Caribbean Beach Resort for our honeymoon and it was great. We were worried about how it would be after reading acouple bad reviews, but we found nothing to be bad about CBR, First, i suggest to research your hotel/hotels befor you book them. All of the review i read and i went through alot of them, all stated mostly the same things. Nothing for the kids todo. The resort is to big and there was to much walking to do. The rooms were not up to par. The Caribbean Beach Resort is everything they say it is on the internet. There is alot of walking if you choose, but there is a bus we saw all the time that takes you to every island with out walking miles around the lake. The CBR does have some flaws like the food. Some of the food was ok, but not the greatest. We ate at the resorts resturant and it was really bad and high in price. we heard afew other guest say they will never go there again either.

On the upper hand, this resort is beautiful. we were able to watch epcots fireworks everynight at 9. They had entertainment everynight outside the food court and the walk is peaceful and quiet. best resort i have stayed at. I have stayed at a higher priced and a lower priced one and the middle is were i had the most fun. We had no problems with the staff, they are very friendly and helpful. You may end up running into bad staff , but you will get that no matter where you go, high or low priced resorts. Because the resort is so big, it was very quiet and peaceful, the pool area did get alittle noisy, but there kids having a good time and the kids were out of the pool befor 11pm. The only reason i'm writting this review is to let people know not to rely on everyones opition. The last thing i would like to say is that the CBR is a great place to stay/Sleep. Since the Resort is really big, you don't see to much of other people, unless your in the food court. I recommend this resort to all
