Our check in was fine. At first, our room was to be in the building right next to the one they are renovating, but when we were unhappy with that, they switched us to the diagonal one. The maid had not seen a wet towel that was hanging on the bathroom door, but when I called, she came immediately to remove it. The beds are fantastic, giving me the best night's sleep in a very long time. The rooms are large and beautifully appointed, with a full kitchen, large fridge with icemaker, range, microwave, all the plates and utensils. The housekeeping cleans everything nicely. I wish they would supply a few more bath amenities, such as soap. We were never given a second bar for the bath in the five days we were there. I would like to see the hallways a little nicer, not such a long walk to get to a room, another elevator for each building, and a nicer, nore upscale pool area.
One thing that I was disappointed with was that we were expecting a full cooked hot breakfast, as their confirmation letter claimed, but that was not provided. Only a continental breakfast is there. And you are not even allowed to toast your bagels. Also, their letter said that there was a Wednesday evening dinner, but that didn't exist either. So apparently, they no longer do those things, but then they should not send letters saying that they do. All in all, I don't know of anyplace else where you can get a one bedroom suite with a full kitchen for such a low price! There are hotels with a lot more to do and nicer pools, but you'd have to pay at least four times what The Desert Rose costs.
