32 year old male with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure
I had a great time this year in Daytona, I came to bike week with my wife and son. We spent a lot of time on the beach and riding around the area. when we needed to wind down and relax at the hotel it was perfect. The pool deck has a good dj that plays music and runs games for the kids, food was good, I had a big room with 2 Bed 2 bath and a living room. Great stay

Great family vacation. First time down to Daytona decided to drive and the long drive had the kids screaming all the way. All i wanted when i got there was to go the beach and relax and this is what i did. Check in took 5 minutes and they even help us in with our many bags. We got a 2 room suite and it was great had that extra room to seperate us from the kids but still be able to look over them. We left for the beach which the hotel is on and the kids stayed at the pool deck as they had a pool deck dj who kept them entertained all day great! Would definately come back although the place does need some little thngs taken care of al;l in all had a great first visit to Daytona

They didn't have what they advertised

I was currently at the Desert Inn Resort Thursday - Sunday (July 26-29, 2007). I was extremely disappointed in my stay. I received a flyer showing different amenities. My fiancée and I walked the hotel up and down and never saw such amenities. This hotel had a leaking roof (which made the floor extremely wet all the time), we were locked out of our hotel room 3 times, there was no spas (as advertised), we were to have an ocean view room (we arrived and they stated that there were no more available), housekeeping did not empty trash cans or replenish the towels. The flyer stated that they had just undergone a 10 million dollar renovation. If they did I am not sure what they used the money on because it was sure not the hotel. I was scared to death to use the elevator, it shook and acted like it wasn't going to make it to the floor and of course I had to be on the 7th floor.

We spent 4 nights at the Desert Inn for spring break. It was awesome! We had a party of 4 and requested a non smoking room on the top floor. That was exactly what we recieved. The people at the desk were very friendly and gave us all the info we needed as far as local attractions and things to do. Very informative! The pool deck parties during the day were awesome and the bar and grill had good times at night. I also noticed that in the bar and grill even though they were very busy, they stillmade sure we recieved exceptional service. (You have to try their Pizza-MMMmmMMmMMmM). Our room was serviced every day and our housekeeper was a very pleasant person. Very Cheery for being so early. Anyways, we all loved the Desert Inn and would recommend this hotel to all.

My wife and I stayed at the Desert inn for 3 nights at the begining of May. We found the hotel while driving on the strip looking for local attractions. We saw they had an advertised special for $69 a night and that was in our budget so we decided to stop and check it out. When we got there they did have rooms availble at the advertised price, but we ended up upgradng to a jacuzzi suite over looking the ocean. The jacuzzi room was still at an affordable rate of $99 and came well equipped with a king bed, jacuzzi, and a resort kitchen, with a balcony looking over the ocean. The room was also very spacious and clean. I noticed the hotel must take pride in their pool deck because there was always an attendant making sure it was perfect. In all, we were very satisfied with the accomodations. For the price, you can't beat it .

Worst stay ever

This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in! I looked it up online and we were so excited because the hotel looked awesome. I also went during school time and had planned on doing homework while I was there on my laptop.
When we got there, their 'free WI FI' did not work, and our room was very dirty. There were stains on the sheets and pillow cases, two bugs under the bed when I pulled the quilt off, the ceiling tile was caving in, which later a cockroach fell out of. Our counters had sticky pop stains, the carpet was so dirty our socks turned black, there was no clock, and we had to call room service 3 times to fix our shower because it would not drain.
To top this trip off, the maid stole $350 from our room. I travel a lot and this is by far the worst place I ever had to stay in. I highly recommend finding another hotel because you will not be satisfied with this place.

We just returned from a six night stay at the Desert inn. I ordered a sunset view suite and I was very happy with the accommodations. The suite had a big bedroom with a living room and a fully equipped kitchen. The view from the balcony was very relaxing, and the balcony was big enough for us all to enjoy.
The room was clean, you could walk on the tile without your shoes and not worry about your socks getting dirty. There was plenty of parking, and the staff at the front desk was very informative on local attractions. My family and I stayed here for almost a week and we all had an enjoyable stay.

I stayed at the Desert Inn December 7-11, 2006. Check in went very smoothly, and the desk staff was very friendly. I had an ocean front room which was a steal for $89. The restaurant had good food and drinks. My room was very clean (even behind the dresser), and came equipped with a microwave and fridge.
The pool deck was amazing. The desk clerk was proud to inform me that they have the biggest pool deck in Daytona Beach. Maid service showed up everyday ready to take care of any requests. I will return.

The Desert Inn is a great hotel. It was recently remodeled and it looks wonderful. I stayed there for three nights in October and I was very happy with my accommodations. My room was exactly what I had reserved. The beds were comfortable, the room was very spacious, and the entire hotel is immaculate. The ocean view from my room was breathtaking! In all, I was very satisfied and would definitely recommend the Desert Inn to anyone looking for quality time in Daytona Beach!

The hotel itself is in good condition, and I received all the service from the staff that can be expected. During the days I walked down to the beach from the pool deck, and went up the boardwalk. And at night, I hung out on the pool deck with everybody else. I didn't bring my laptop with me on vacation, but as it turns out hey have free wireless internet. There’s also a few clubs and bars in walking distance, but we didn’t go to those either. They have some air hockey tables, pool tables, and an arcade room. The only real bad thing I encountered was a vending machine that ate a couple of my quarters. That’s hardly their fault, though. If you’re young and fun, and looking for like-minded individuals, then this is place for you. If you are choosing a hotel to get a peaceful nights rest, you can find that, too, just stay away from Daytona in general during bike week!

Waste of money!

This place sucks, after an 8 hour drive from GA, the manager was very rude and disrespectful. They put us in a room in the court yard area, 8 x 12 room, 1 bed and a sleep sofa, and both were very dirty. The floor in the bathroom had not been cleaned and the toilet was dirty. We got up a 4 am and went outside to sleep in the truck, the mold smell was so bad we could not sleep! $223.88 wasted! We will never go there again. The staff was very rude when I asked for the TV remote.

Avoid this hotel at all costs

I only stayed at this hotel for one night. I paid for a week and left after a night without getting any money back. That is how awful it was. I was with six friends, and we all agreed to leave.
There was a used condom outside our balcony. There was also a pair of underwear outside our balcony. The hallways had towels covered in vomit lying around, trash spilling in the hallways, and huge holes punched into walls. The elevators smelled like pee and vomit. I have pictures to back-up all of my claims.
