The oceanfront Delano Hotel in the heart of Miami is hailed by critics and guests as the ultimate urban resort. From the moment visitors enter the oceanfront Delano's all white entry and indoor/outdoor lobby, they are greeted by massive white columns and billowy sheers that hang from the ceiling and form separate alcoves. They can even pull up stools to a long marble table in the hotel's eat in kitchen and choose their fare. And the oceanfront location isn't bad either. The Delano sits just three blocks from the hustle and bustle of famous Ocean Drive and South Beach, and close to Lincoln Road Mall's trendy shopping and restaurants. For dining, guests will salivate over the Florida inspired French cuisine at the popular Blue Door Restaurant and Brasserie, which requires reservations at least two weeks in advance. To eat outside, guests can pick the Blue Door Terrace, which provides views of the hotel's lush garden and pool area. Located in the lobby, the Blue Sea is a small place with one long communal table, but at night turns into an Asian sea bar specializing in Asian fusion cuisine, caviar, oysters and sushi. Adding to its surreal surroundings, the Delano offers an outdoor swimming pool with underwater classical music and areas for meditating. There are even tables in the shallow end for eating. Guests can enjoy a fully stocked gym facility, while women will love Agua, a rooftop bathhouse and solarium just for them. EVERYTHING in the guests rooms are white: the walls, the linens, the wood floors. And pewter angel figurines mounted high on the walls keep watch over everything. The Delano emphasizes lounging, sun worshipping and pampering. Guests are an international mix of upscale leisure business travelers, including big shots from the entertainment industry.

The brand-new beachfront Delano Hotel is an Art Deco boutique hotel in the center of South Beach. The main point of the hotel is to be trendy, chic and 'the place to be,' which it carries off quite well for certain travellers but it may not be for everyone. The rooms are clean, well kept but small. Some have ocean views - but be warned the hotel next door is under going some construction work which you can see from these rooms. The common areas in the hotel, such as the lobby and pool area are designed to impress and they do. The rooftop Aqua Spa has some great treatments for pampering and relaxing and there's also a well equipped fitness center with personal trainers. The beach is straight out the back of the hotel and many restaurants, nightclubs, art galleries, museums and shops are within easy walking distance. The staff are well trained and welcoming and friendly. A good hotel if you're looking for a fun, sociable and lively atmosphere in a fashionable setting.

Superfriendly staff. Well cleaned rooms, amazing pool area and tremendous service on beach. The design of the hotel is adorable. Any flies in the soup? Well, the pool menu isn't top notch, but should it be. It surely made our trip to stay at Delano.

Mediocre
I just returned from a vacation there and had several serious problems that would have been taken seriously at any other larger hotel. It would have been fine if the management even acknowledge any of these problems, would have been even better if...
pros: Beautiful sceneryThe view is by far the best part of this bar. Due to it's small size, it is near impossible to order a drink on a crowded night. Having been all over the South Beach scene, I am used to long waits and sometimes rude or...

Horrible
pros: Cool guestsWe found the staff to be stand-offish at best and rude at worse. It was as though it was beneath them to accommodate guests properly. For example: my brother and I went to the pool bar to have a drink. At that time, there were four...

Stayed here because the Ritz was booked up. After traveling from New York with a four hour airline delay, we were brought up to a room the size of a small closet with two twin beds. (We were two adults and two twelve year old children) It took 15...

Okay
Park a mile away and walk to the hotel, and you will get your car back faster than the unorganized valet system they have there! I expected better service from this place.
pros: Valet, decor, foodThe food is fantastic and the atmosphere is awesome. The people there take care of you really well, the srvice is great. Everything about it is...
