I was at this hotel for a conference. WHile I was there someone car was broken into. Someones car was left on the street by the valet so a bus hit her car door. Another womans car jack was stolen. One mans luggage was stolen. The smoke detectors were covered on the 14th floor to stop them from going off as the floor was filled with smoke.

A Garmin was stolen from our room and security accused us.

We phoned the police who were just as disgusted as we were with their lack of concern or professionalism. THey had not even checked into who had access to our rooms and did not question any one but us.

One representitive of their security staff said to me, "Well did you see anyone steal it." As if to say well then it was not stolen.

They did not compensate us or offer to do anything. The police were the only people helpful.

There is a pervasive atmosphere of cover-up at that hotel which allows employess to steal with no consequences.

You are not safe their. Do Not Stay. They will steal anything and management does not care.

When arrived at the Deauville a little early (check-in time was at 4pm. We arrived at 1:30p.) I approached the agent and advised her that both my partner and I were coming down with the flu and wanted to know if they could have housekeeping prepare our room first, so we could get in faster. We even offered more $$ for that type of room. The agent said she would do so and contact us when the room was ready. About 2:30p, the agent waved to us and said the room was ready for occupancy. Now, we had arranged to have an oceanview room. When we got to the room, it was what we expected, an oceanview room. The room overall was poor. The sheets on the bed were dirty and there were scarce amenities. We left a note for housekeeping asking that they clean our beds everyday, so we would have fresh linen to sleep on each day.

The hotel offered a restaurant and a spa service. The restaurant was more like a nightclub rather than a sit down dinner and the spa was a separate business within the hotel. I think the best part of our stay was the spa.

The night before we left, I decided to check out our bill. (They offer a service where you can view your bill on the television) You wouldn't believe my reaction when I saw that they charged us a $120 upgrade on our room. When they checked us in, they upgraded us to a oceanview with a balcony. This was never told to us at check-in. I assumed our room came with a balcony hence oceanview. But according to them, they are two separate rooms. I had to spend over two hours arguing with the manager about this. They finally decided to give us a credit but it took over two weeks to post into our account.

With that said, I would not recommend this hotel. The lobby was impeccible (except for the rooms) and the majority of the staff were friendly but my experience was not impressive to say the least.

This was nothing like it was supposed to be. We were tricked into our room, we were told we would have ocean front but when we got there they said we had ocean view. CAUTION: They are VERY tricky with their little play on words, if you just have to stay there make absolutely sure you understand what kind of view your room will have, which is hard sense not a soul in the building that works there speaks English or even trys to care. We also paid for 1 full bed & were told after checking in that they don't have any more fulls, so we got stuck with a twin!! The wait @ the front desk was a nightmare & the staff was slightly rude. The hotel its self was decent...defiantly not 3 star...maybe 1and a half stars. The room was clean but old & out dated, best described as a polished turd. Ice machine! Ha! GOOD LUCK finding one! We had to go down 3 floors anytime we needed ice. The Smell of the building will make the sick, old mildew.

It might have been nice 30 years ago. For the price we spent we found out we could have stay in several other places ALOT nicer.

They also fail to tell you that your going to have to pay 20$ a day for valet, that's fine, but we are young & don't mind parking our own car. When you ask where you can park you own car no one speaks English enough to understand you, then when you get your point across you're told that you can't park your own car. Needless to say, we parked our own car in the public beach access parking 3 blocks away, which you have to pay for but it was defiantly cheaper than 20 bucks a day! The tiki hut out by the pool is a robbery, 10 bucks a drink! We walked across the

Street & got our own bottle for 13 bucks & mixed our own drinks on the beach. One of the cleaning ladies stole a pack of smokes out of our carton in our bags, which was not in plain view so they had to go thru our stuff to get them, nothing you can do though how do you prove it!!?? Like taking hot showers?? Well forget it at this place, no existent hot water & if you complain to the front desk they don't understand you. You could say it was just the time when we tried the shower? Well we were there for a week & I didn't get 1 hot shower out of the entire stay. Check out once again sucked, & a 10 dollar a day "Resort fee" was added....READ THE SMALL PRINT. They added insult to injury. The only good thing about this waste of money polished turd was that it was in walking distance to some good food. Don't believe the good reviews, there is no way those are real people, it has to be the management writing those reviews! I feel like they should have paid me to stay there! Thank god Miami was nice or this would have been a horrible vacation. This place is a fake; it's not even close to a resort! You have been warned!

The only bad thing about this hotel is the valet parking. Because it gets too crowded but other than that it is a good hotel, children friendly, family oriented type of hotel. The restaurant has nice servers always attending to your needs. It has a gym, pool, salon, gift shop and its right on the beach.

I LOVE THE DEAUVILLE AND I GO EVERY SUMMER AND I WILL KEEP ON GOING EVERY SUMMER !

Arrived at 2.30pm and was told that the valet parking was full but could park in one of the side streets on a meter. Drove around for 15 minutes trying to find a parking space and did find a public car park that cost 50 cent a hour. i was lucky getting that space as someone was just leaving. Got back to the hotel after a 10 minute walk and ask the valet parking when there would be parking availability and was told to ask later.

Now for check-in !!!!!!! Joined the queue of about 15 people in front of me and waited and waited and after 35 minutes i get to check in desk and guess what they didn't have the my reservation. The girl was nice enough but did take another 15 minutes to sort it out. While we were waiting a group of teenagers were running around the lobby shouting and throwing a ball to each other no one asking them to stop and in the other corner was a very drunk man that was wolf whistling and shouting abuse at any women who came within 20 feet , again no one ask him to stop.

Getting to room a was pleasantly surprised that the room was great and had a wonderful view , shame the glass needed cleaning. It was clean large nicely decorated with a good sized bed and did have a fridge but , and a big BUT, - no safe . Having over $2000 , a camcorder, PSP, camera, and 2 mobile phones I was bit worried about leaving it all in the room after seeing the kind of customers that where staying in the hotel.

Later the evening I asked again about valet parking was told to try again in the morning about 8am.

In the morning i get up at 7.30 and ask about valet parking and told to try 9, tried at 9 told to try again to try 10. I was getting really annoyed at this point. Went back at 10 and told to come back at 1pm at this point i give up and just walk back to the car the to feed the metre. I only picked this hotel because of the valet parking. I know that parking can be difficult in Miami but would have been better off staying in south beach and parking in one of the many city run car parks. Think the valet parking staff were looking for a back hander just to get in the car park. !!!!!!!!!

Public transport is very good and only cost $1.50 and runs every 5-10 mins. A taxis is about $15 which is good value.

This was once a grand hotel which has now lost some of its charm and a bit lack luster. With a bit of loving care and big improvement in customer service it might be worth staying there.

There is a $10 daily charge that you must pay for using the pool, towels, sun loungers, wireless internet. I didn't use an off them.

There was room service plates left out side people room at 8pm and were still when we checked out at 11am

They also need to sort out the parking as it almost ruined my weekend. I was worried that I was going to get a ticket or being towed. Getting up every day at 7.30am to feed a metre is not my idea of a good time.

I am not likely to return to the Deauville Beach Resort.
I would not recommend it to friends.
