The room was not cleaned very well.

My mother and I checked into the Days Inn Indianapolis on Craig Street. We had requested non-smoking rooms, but both of us had to inspect multiple rooms before accepting rooms because the rooms either reeked of smoke, had cigarette burns on the bedding, or had stains on the walls next to the toilet. As we were already late for a dinner reservation, we finally settled on a room, left our bags, and went to dinner. Upon returning to the hotel a few hours later, as I was looking around the room for the Internet connection, I discovered a used condom stuck to the wall behind the pillows on the bed. Needless to say, I was completely disgusted. I confronted the desk employee with the condom and informed him we were leaving the hotel. I demanded a refund, but he was more annoyed that we had switched rooms than the fact I found a used condom in the room. I contacted Days Inn Customer Service - they gave the hotel seven days to respond. The hotel responded to Days Inn Customer Service, but not to me, and again complained that we switched rooms a few times - they were utterly unconcerned by the fact I found a used condom in the room. Days Inn Customer Service is only willing to refund half the room charge because we were in the room longer than one half hour (the reason for which I explained above.) This whole experience has been completely revolting and frustrating. Days Inn Customer Service and the specific hotel location have been utterly unsympathetic and unreasonable.

They had clean rooms and friendly service.

We were supposed to get a king suite, but they were remodeling and they did not tell us in advance. They did not give us any reimbursement since we got stuck with two double beds.

There was no hot water and the reservation clerks were not experienced with check in or check out.
