I was there in early October at the Texas A&M vs Arkansas game. Met some old friends and tailgated at the Hotel. Had a grand time! I had a tremendous view of Cowboys Stadium which was just across the street and all my friends were enjoying themselves, drinking, eating, and chatting away. The room was very clean. My bed was firm and comfortable. The service was outstanding - while I was checking out, my wife was carrying a huge box (we went a little overboard at the Cowboys gift shop) and this nice man came and helped her without being asked! Now, that's what I call service. We paid over $150/night for two nights and fot their parking package which included the tailgating parking pass. It was well worth it because we wanted to be where the action is. It rained that day and felt sorry for all these people - and there were plenty of them - who had to walk far and some even had to stand in the rain waiting for their transportation bus after the game. While all I had to do with my friends was to walk across the street, take a shower, visit some more, and call it a day later.

My husband and I attended the OU/BYU game held at the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium this past weekend. When booking the hotel, we found the Days Inn and assumed it was a safe bet because we thought it was a reputable company. Boy were we wrong! The hotel (if you can call it that) had a great location, but the parking lot was small and jumbled. The prices were extremely inflated due to the new stadium. I have paid cheaper rates at 4 star hotels in Houston, Dallas, Phoenix, and Las Vegas! We were charged $30 for parking and told it was "event parking." We feel that as guests of the hotel, we should be entitled to free parking just like any other hotel. I booked a non-smoking room with a king-size bed. We were put in a smoking room with a bed that was more like a child's full-size. Our room was adjacent to the elevator and was noticeably smaller than the other rooms. The ice machine was just outside our door, and we could hear everything going on our floor. I travel a lot with my job and am often subjected to mediocre hotels, but this was absolutely the worst hotel experience I've ever had. I have already posted on facebook telling all of my friends to spend the extra $50 and stay at a decent hotel if they go to that area. Arlington is a big family destination in this part of the county, and most hotels in that area have stepped up their game to be more accomodating and competitive. This Days Inn was the complete opposite. I will never stay at another Days Inn again because the corporate office must not have any integrity to allow this to continue. The franchise should be pulled ASAP!!

The best thing about this hotel was the location. We were thrilled that the hotel was right across the street from Cowboy Stadium, however it was very outdated. The beds were very hard and the bathroom was small. As people checked in the hot water disappeared. The cable TV didn't produce clear pictures and the channel selection was limited. The parking lot was small as well. This hotel needs a MAJOR upgrade. If I had to do over again, I'd probably select a different hotel.

The traveler does not have control of adjusting the heater. I checked in at 3 p.m. on a very bitterly cold and windy day. The room was very cold and decided to turn on the heater. Well, after waiting for over two hours for the air flow to turn warm, it was still cool.
I walked to the front desk and told the lady that the heater didn't seem to be working. Remember, this was around 5 p.m. The lady proceeded to tell me that the customer cannot adjust or has any control of the heater flow in the room. The hotel management is the only one who can turn the heat on. The lady at the front desk told me management turns the heater on every night at 9 p.m. and turn it back off at 9 am. I don't know if there were more customers complaining about their room being cold because I noticed the heater finally came on around 8 p.m. I had to endure a cold room for over five hours.
Another thing is the hotel will charge a customer for local calls. Charging for local calls, can you believe that?
Besides these major problems, everything else in the room was OK. The staff was friendly, polite, and very helpful.
I do not think that I will recommend this hotel to my friends. I do not think that I will use it again myself. It was very disappointing because I have never had such major problems in a Days Inn hotel until now.
